Snotty Brandon Sinclair thinks ouija boards are the bee's knees. He even brings them to parties where he makes contact with David, a 10-year-old who fell out of a boat 30 years earlier and unfortunately TlhieaiterCoinicerit MA? rv couidn swim. Linda. Brandon's ex-girlfriend who's now living with Jim Brandon's ex-buddy becomes entranced by the ouija board and after the party makes a few contacts of her own. Jim, a construction worker with a pesky ax that just won't stay still, thinks Linda and Brandon have gone off the deep end.

Brandon, who's still in love uith I inrta. warns lim that the BROWARD DADE Midway through this nonsense, you give up hoping that "Witchboard" will emerge as one of those so-bad-it's-good horror flicks. At first the potential seems to be there, but as it unfolds, "Witchboard" becomes just plain dopey. The idea of contacting evil spirits through a ouija board is as good an idea as any for a horror film. The semi-capable cast (including stunning Tawny Kitaen as Linda) is given more to do than is usually allotted to actors in these films, and writer-director Kevin S.

Tenney uses blood, guts and gore as sensibly as possible. The problems, however, are insurmountable. Unintentionally comical dialogue and staging produce too many laughs in the wrong places, particularly when Jim and Brandon make a pilgrimage to David's fog-shrouded grave, hoping to dig up a few facts. The only thing worse is when Linda steps into the steaming shower while the guys are out of town. Hire Zarabeth the medium to perform an exorcism. Unfortunately, Zarabeth (Kathleen Wilhoite) can't fly, so when the evil spirit tosses her out the window, she becomes impaled on a pointy piece of sculpture.
