Etienne, who will enter Florida International University next fail on a tennis scholarship, is the first black and first player from Miami to win the junior college singles championship During his final season at Dade-Center, Etienne had an unblemished 34-0 record.

He led Dade-Center to a fourth-place finish in the national team standings in 1980. Once billed as the world's tallest Cuban, Cueto plays a little three-on-three basketball at his leisure, and is on a softball team at the Big Five Club. He works as a manager in the industrial ales division of Proctor and Gamble. "A doctor told me I'd have plastic knees by the time I'm 45 if I kept playing basketball on a regular basis. Every time I go out and play, my knees get puffed up, my ankles hurt.

But I still like to play once in a while." Beau Jack, 60, who won the world lightweight championship in 1943 as a I35-pounder: Jack weighs 160 now while holding down several Jobs as a worker in the kitchen and barbershop at the Dotal Beach Hotel and a boxing instructor at the Moore Park facility. "I feel like I'm 45, but I know I'm 60," Jack says. "I do a little bit of jogging. I run from 51st Street to 36th Street every morning. And I get up early about 6 o'clock." Jack says on Wednesdays and Thursdays you can usually find him at Moore Park assisting the young boxers.

although I must admit I'm not in the physical shape or the capacity I wu when I was a Jockey. It's Just that I don't want to get sloppy with my weight. And I don't."
