Seipp, one of the few women to hold such a top-level radio job in the country, has been with WLYF since 1973. The station is now all country, from 6 a.m. to sundown, doing what "Southland does best," according to president and general manager J. Wayne Stewart. The station makes no pretenses about competing in the Miami market, aiming strictly for Homestead listeners with news for that area alone. "When we bought the station the request line never rang," Stewart says.

"Now we're getting up to 40 calls an hour." BITS 'N PIECES Channel 23 expands its newscasts to an hour beginning Tuesday, Telenoche, which will go on the air at 10:30 p.m., will have a format similar to the Today show style. Channel 6 is slipping in a special film festival again this week (last week it was Bette Davis The 8 p.m. movies will all star Humphrey Bogart. Jim Simpson and Curt Gowdy will provide commentary for this third straight year of prime-time coverage. 10 p.m. OLGA Russian gymnast Olga Korbut is profiled in this documentary which was filmed following her multi-award winning performance in the 1972 Olympics. Cameras follow Olga in both Moscow and Frankfurt. NIGHTS ELKV1SION THE CHANGES continue at WIOD and WA1A, with another Kansas City executive imported, this time to take over as station manager of the FM side of the Cox Broadcasting operation.

Rick Gray, who replaces Herb Hirsch at WA1A, hails from KMBR-FM in Kansas City, as have general manager Joe Abernathy and program director Jim Gallant. Don Reed, who lost out as program director when Gallant was brought in to head programming on both stations, has been given an official title now. He is assistant sales manager. Gallant has already begun making programming changes, eliminating some of the mini-features which were scattered throughout the WIOD programming. He wants more personality from his on-air talent even though the AM station has been quite successful with its current format and style.
