This was the i ninth reunion of the class. Sixteen of the 33 members were present.

Class members present were Dr. Frei Cody of Los Angeles; Leonard Mershon of Newhall, Theodore Devereaux of San Diego; Fern Anderson of Sun City, Merlam Berkhimer Arbuckle of Kerrville, Texas; Frank Peckham of Lakehurst, New Jersey; Lena Olson Swanson of Lake Cit, Hermanus swimming to start June 18 The Humboldt County Society for Crippled Children and Adults has announced the summer swimming program for crippled and handicapped adults 'Will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Humboldt swimming iol each Saturday morning arting June 18 thru August 6. Bob Davis, instructor, will be charge of the program. Vol- inteer helpers will be Elizabeth Jygaard, Margaret Hauck, sTeresa Rhodes, Cathy Eichler, Hankins, Judy Merris and Sande.

The table decorations centered around red roses, the class flow- er, with place cards being photographs taken from the 1916 Nokomis, the Humboldt school annual. President F. C. Anderson conducted the business meeting and social hour that followed the dinner.

Mrs. Grace Lowder read messages from 4 members who were au'ruunne 50 members had cTied. All present responded to roll call with news of their activities in the past 5 years. Other social activities enjoyed by the class during the week end were a social evening at the Lawrence Lindhart home on Saturday evening and a Sunday evening lunch at the home of Miss Frances Messer. He died Sunday afternoon, June 12, at his home. He was a long' time employee on the farm belonging to Mrs. Olive Pederson. According to Humboldt County sheriff officers, death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound made by a .410 shotgun. Born at Dram men, Norway, June 29, 1883, he came to the Hardy area as a young man.

He never married. There are no immediate survivors. Clarence Bayard Olson, 79- year-old Humboldt resident, drowned Friday afternoon, June 10, 1966, in the West Des Moines River in west Humboldt. The body was pulled from the river about 90 feet north of concrete walkway that extends from the east river bank past the millrace to the main part of the river dam. The body was discovered about 4:20 p.m.

The drawing will be held Just prior to the free square dance on Taft Street at Sumner Avenue. The drawing will be Friday night instead of Wednesday afternoon as originally planned. It is not necessary to be present to win. Lewis Eller. The three boys will be ninth grade students next school term.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. L. C. Jenson, pastor. Mrs.

L. C. Jenson sang "I Lift My Heart to Thee," accompanied by Mrs. Don Hamilton, organist. Casket bearers were Alan Olson, Warren Hanklns, Orlando Grefstad, Neal Olson.

Erling Olson, and George Grefstad. Interment was in Union Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Slevers Funeral Home. Mr. Olson was born January 1, 1887, in Corinth Township, Humboldt County, Iowa.

After his marriage to Miss Ruth Ehmke, they lived on the Olson homestead until 1920, when they moved to a farm northeast of Bode. Mr. and Mrs. Olson moved to Humboldt in 1942. Mrs.

Olson passed away in 1964. Mr. Olson maintained a residence at 607 6th Avenue North. A former chairman of the Humboldt County ASCS, he is survived by one brother, James A. Olson of Humboldt.

James A. Olson was at his brother's home Friday afternoon. Apparently after his departure about 1:30, C. B. Olson got in his car and drove to a point along the edge of the river between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue.

His car was parked, headed south, only a few feet from the edge of the river. It Is assumed that'he got out of the car and within a short time fell into the river. There are large rocks along the river's edge where the body was discovered. Olson was crippled and used a cane or crutch. Dr.

Hayes led the pack with a qualifying 70 over the first 18 holes, and then finished the championship round with an even par 36 to win clothing glftcertlf- cates worth $200 at Humboldt merchants' stores. Jeff Birdsell of Hampton was runnerup with a 107, finishing with a one under par 35, after an even 72 qualifying round, and Tom Chapman of Fort Dodge finished third playing par golf wm.

John Hand of Emmestburg won fourth place with a 109 after defeating George Lee of Humboldt and Lyle McConoughy of Clarion in a sudden death playoff after three holes. In addition to the championship flight prizes were awarded for the first four places in 11 flights, with winning scores varying from 77 to 99 for the 18 hole rounds. Over 200 golfers competed in the two day tournament which began with qualifying rounds for Humboldt golfers on Saturday, and qualifying for out of town entrants on Sunday.
