Neil Young and Crazy Horse join Grin on this album; and it definitely is not just another rock group. That amazing super guitar playing on 'After the Gold Rush' is present; you hear that ame lonesome piano ('Everbody's Missing Sun'). It has more rock n' roll than on the Neil Young albums, yet it combines his freshness and ease with rock. For a first album, it is a good one. with an instrumental hit called He has been living on a farm since that time, and has resurfaced with an album to beat all funky albums recorded to date.

Think back to the early years of rock nt roll when it was all blues and driving chilling guitars, and foot stomping music well, this is that with added guts and depth. The album was recorded on the farm, with a three track system, and voices of the family living there. His lyrics are of 1971, his music is of the country, with his harsh voice and some of the finest rock music played in a long, long time. His group, every member of it, is as fresh and real as Link is; the country really does good things for his head and his music. Reasons given include group's different trips and the fact that unrealistic as it sounds, they are broke. The logical solution would be to try and organize one last tour yet somehow the tour is not coming together smoothly. Marty Balin refuses to tour, and he is working with another group; 'Grootna and Gracie (recovering from a car accident) and Paul want to move out to the country with their child, and 'Hot Tuna' is happily emerging as a very cohesive group performing all over the country.

Not that this is an unfamiliar story, but all the energy of it's Pointed Head," Bathing At 'Surrealistic Pillow' and more have left a permanent mark. It would be beautiful to hear them for one last time, together happy, energetic and magical. 71 AttrpAtion.7 oda will be going on at the Hollywood Speedway. EVOLUTION, Hedges and Donna, Polydor Records. Refreshing and wide open in the wind, that's Hedges and Donna.

In a time of gimmicks and freaky trips, it is nice to hear something melodic, together, simple and smooth. Gentle words, clear vocals, a man and his old lady, piano, guitars, occasional brass, drums and fine production. I don't know what more you could ask for in the way of ease and softness. Yet it is GRIN, Spindizzy Records Grin is comprised of Nils Lofgren (guitars, keyboards and vocals), Bob Gordon (bass, vocals) and Bob Berberich (drums and vocals). This is a new rock group, but the members have had some fine experience Nils Lofgren (age 20) has already played piano for Neil Young on 'After The Gold Rush' a guitar for Crazy Horse on his last album.

Their music is clear, exacting and so constructed that it gives one the feeling of psycliedelia. They are a very fine group and until Randy California realized that his vocal mike was not working, the set went well. Once aware, of the problem, though the concert was over. Even with an encore, an obviously angry Spirit did about forty minutes of good music: one of the shortest sets at Pirates World to date. Yet you cannot blame them, the sound was disastrous on the vocal mikes, and that's something that should never happen.
