O'Connell High put on a display of offensive power and the defensive unit was at its best for the evening. Fullback Mark Delgado scored two touchdowns and gained 80 yards rushing in 16 carries. La Porte stands 8-1 on the season.

Clear Creek is on the season and 0-6 in league play. Clear Creek prevented a shutout when Barney Smith and Marshall Sealy scored Wildcat touchdowns in the fourth period. The Coogs made the Scoreboard as the last seconds of the third quarter ticked off the board when Teddy Smith bolted through a gaping hole off left guard and raced 55 yards untouched. Oliver's passing try for two points was intercepted by by Danny Resales. On their next possesion the Coogs mounted their only sustained drive of the game but a holding penalty at the Oiler 32 hurt the march and Noel Blacher's fumble on an end around killed it. The fumble.was picked up by Lew French. Pearland took the ball on the 50 and on third and 10 unleashed Kaleh for runs of 21, 19 and 10 yards for the touchdown.

Navarro booted his second extra point of the night to make it 23-6 and the Oilers pulled the first string. In the end it was the mistakes and penalties that have plauged La Marque all year the brought their downfall. They fumbled four times-losing two- and were penalized seven times for 63 yards. Jeff La Fleur set the scoring pace for the Gators by racking up four touchdowns. Dickinson now carries an 8-0 league record and stands 8-1 on the season.

The first Dickinson touchdown in the opening period came on a 77 yard march that used 11 plays. Fullback went the final 32 yards for the touchdown and Dennis David added the conversion kick. Two key plays in the drive included a 12-yard run by Jones and a 40-yard pass from quarterback Donnie Little to end Bill Cary. La Fleur, who is the leading scorer in District 14-AAA, scored the next two first half Gator touchdowns. The first came with 53 seconds left in the first period when La Fleur plunged over from the four.

His score capped a 47-yard Gator drive that used five plays. David converted. A key play in the drive was a 32-yard pass from Little to La Fleur. La Fieur's next score came with 7:01 remaining in the second period. He scored from the 11 to cap a 32-yard drive that used 8 plays.

Courville got the Tors untraeked in the secnr.d half with a 39-yard return of the opening kickoff which gave the Tors a first and 10 from the Texas City Moody Hatcher broke up the middle for 18-yards on first down and a 15 yard penalty against the Stings moved the ball to the Texas City IB. Clements got six of those 10 on first down from that point and capped the drive with a twisting, driving, bullish 10-yard touchdown run on second down to give the Tors a 12-7 lead. Ball High's try for two failed and the score remained 12-7 early in the third period and eventually at the conclusion of the game. Texas City kept the game close trom start to finish with some hard-nosed defensive play that limited the Tors to little at almost every Sterling defensive plays were turned in by Verrill Young, a a Micheletti.
