MARK'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH The Women of the church of British Composer-Conductor Dies Peacefully at Age of 81 LONDON (UPI)-Sir Ihomas Beecham, the great English conductor and composer whose acid comments were respected as much as his baton, died peacefully early Wednesday of a cerebral thrombosis. He was 81. Lady Beecham, the 27-year-old secretary he married in 1959 a year after the death of his first wile, said he suffered a severe of virus pneumonia during a three-month American tour last February and that illness contributed to his death. "Although he quickly responded to treatment, it was obvious to everyone around him that owing to the strenuous nature the tour the illness had made great demands upon his physical ttrength," she said.
