Moline were weekend pests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Press Hickerson in Seymour. Duane Agan, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Homer Agan, received! compound fracutre to his leg, Tuesday evening, May 26, when a pickup truck roUed over him. He underwent a three hour surgical operation and is recovering slowly. Clio News Ross Barker entered the Decatur County Hospital in Leon Sunday evening for check up. Mabel Parsons of Kansas City, Missouri spent Monday with Hazel Hutchinson. Mr.

and Mrs. Larry Jackson Mrs. Iva Smith and Mrs. Ada Long were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Freda Hart.

In the afternoon the group called in the Leon Burns home near Numa. Mr. and Mrs. E.N. Huston, Jane Ellen and Mr.

and Mrs. Jim Burger were Sunday dinner guests in the Lloyd Garver home in Corydon, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Jim Havens of Belmond on their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Don, Susan and Mark Havens were also pests.

Edward Holmes Sr. remains a patient since last Monday, in the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. His condition is about the same. Mr. and Mrs.

Kirton of Aller-ton were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Clark, in the afternoon, Mrs. Kirton, Mrs. Clark and Mrs.

Pauline Hellweg were callers on their father Edward Holmes, Sr. Mrs. Ada Long of Promise Biole School attendance average of girls and boys last week was 130 each day. Nancy Adams and Mr. and Mrs.

Oliver Stevemient of Newton, Kansas spent Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert HarL Mr. and Mrs. Bert Brown-field of E.

Moline were Sunday callers on her sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Draper. Mr. and Mrs.

Ray Brownfield also called on the home. Mrs. Lena Sebben and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schebler and Jimmie all of Davenport and Mr.

and Mrs. Bob Sloan of Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. David Fiser and Bobbi Jo of Ankeny and Mrs. Tony Susich and Gary of Wapello, all spent the morial weekend in the Freb Sebben, Tony Sebben and Keith Mitchell homes in Seymour.

Saturday the group enjoyed a co-operatived dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Sebben. Mrs. Dora Thomas of Independence, Iowa and Mrs.

Cora Webb of Davenport were Monday dinner and overnight pests of Mr. and Mrs. Johnston in Seymour. Mr. and Mrs.

Tom Crossland were weekend pests of their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crossland, Rhonda and Lisa in Davenport. Melody Donald of Trayer spent the first of the week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Herbert Harl and attended the Baptist Church Bible School in Seymour. Mrs. Dorothy Miller ofDaven-port returned home Sunday evening after spending the past two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Draper in Seymour.

George Draper of Muscatine was a weekend caller of his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Draper. Mr. and Mrs.

Bob Popejoy and Sherri of Fairfield were weekend guests of her mother Mrs. Noreene Mosbey in Seymour. Mr. and Mrs. William Brittain of Waukee, and Mr.

and Mrs. Alfred Martin of Des Moines were all Memorial Day dinner pests of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Husted afternoon callers in the home were, Mr. and Mrs.

Leo Husted and son, Merril of Carlisle, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Husted of Corydon. Gary Logan of Des Moines was a Sunday afternoon caller in the Marion Husted home. and Mrs.

M.H. Johnston of Seymour attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Miss Barbara Criswell of Indianola to Kent Opheim of Stanwood, Iowa; Memorial Day (Saturday afternoon) at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Indianola. A reception followed the wedding in the church dining room. A Buffet Supper was held at the Indianola Country Club, for the wedding party.

Miss Criswell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. 0. Criswell.

Mrs. Johnston's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. William Mumma, of Lawrence, Kansas, also attended the wedding. EnmBLESj SPECIAL BUY! were Mr.

Jerry Allen of Plymouth, Indianna were all Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lester McMurry and Mrs. Juaaita Carpenter. Mrs.

Dora Thomas of Independence, Iowa; Mrs. Icy Prince of Allerton and Mrs. Cora Webb of Davenport were Sunday evening callers on Mrs. Coy Thomas. Gilbert Davis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was a pest of his brother and wife, Mr.

and Mrs. Ray Davis, Wednesday through Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Davis and family of Durant were Friday through Sunday guests in the parental Ray Davis home.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Davis and family of rural Piano and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Davis, Kenny, and Kirk of Centerville, joined the family Sunday for dinner.

Seymour Hews Past Matrons met at the Civic Center Tuesday evening, Mrs. Nettie Van Dorn and Mrs. Thel-ma Scott, were hostesses. There eleven members present. The evening was spent socially.

Plans were made to honor the Rainbow Girls at a dinner, Monday evening. Refreshments of ice cream, cookies, and coffee were served to, Ethel Philips, Lela Johnston, Moris Shepherd, Edna Banning, Mary Burchett, Hazel Davis, Faye Runyon, Rosella Hammond and Naomi Husted. Mr. and Mrs. Elza Sager and family of Davenport; Mr.

and Mrs. Mark Sager and Bart of Bettendorf; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sullivan of Jefferson; were all Memorial weekend pests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Loy McMurry. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Merritt of Seymour, joined the family Sunday for dinner. Mr.

and Mrs. Mose Sager of rural Promise City spent Saturday evening in the McMurry home. Mrs. David Cobb was hostess to the Town and Country Club, May 21. Plans were made to make yarn bouquets at the next meeting.

Mrs. Kenneth Johnson won a game prize and Mrs. Sandra Peterson won the Guess What. The Club will meet for a family picnic June 6 at Centerville. Refreshments were served.

The First Baptist Church Sympathy is erend.d to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Monteith of Fort Dodge, in the death of their infant daughter. Funeral services were Monday from Liggetts Funeral Home in Seymour, with burial at Promise City Cemetery. Mrs.

Monteith is the former Marilyn Thompson, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson of Promise City. Mr. Monteith's parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Monteith live in Seymour. Mrs. Delia Snider received word of the death of Mrs. Ray Chapman, mother of Glen Chapman, in Chariton Monday morning, May 25.

Funeral services for Mrs. Chapman were Wednesday afternoon May 27, at the Corydon Christian Church, with burial in the Corydon Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the family. Mrs. Julia Hayhurst and Mrs.

Harold Clark attended graveside services at Sand Hill Cemetery north of Centerville, for a cousin, Charley Bollman of Bettendorf. Memorial Day visitors to see Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hayhurst, were Mr. and Mrs.

Bernie Buck of Mystic and Austin Bennett. Sunday visitors in the Hayhurst home were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Chapman and Mr. and Mrs.

Harold Clark of Bethlehem. Mr. Hayhurst is recovering slowly from injuries he received recently in a tractor-truck accident. Memorial Day dinner guests in the Herman Long home were Mr. and Mrs.

Lowell Long of Osceola, and La Vern Long of Lerov. Morning callers in the home were Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Robertson of Corydon, Miss Joan Robertson of Ames and Keith Beal of Des Moines. Mr.

and Mrs. Bob Clark were Thursday evening callers in the Charles McClain, Robert Kern homes and also visited Howard Hayhurst. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Clark, Mr.

and Mrs. Loyal Hellweg of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Carpenter of LaSac, Wisconsin called on Mr. and Mrs.

Ed Holmes Jr. in Promise City. Mrs. Mike Stout of Des Moines was a Sunday dinner guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Herman Long. Bennie Ray Sharp of Raymore, Missouri who spent the past week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sharp, will go to Des Moines Tuesday and is spending a few days with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Clara Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hughes spent Friday with Mrs. Estella Brattain.

They had dinner in Centerville and visited the Jerome Cemetery in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ward R. Cooper of Des Moines were weekend pests of Mr.

and Mrs. Fred Huston in Promise City. Tina De Vore and Sherri Pope-joy attended a birthday party for Penny Bowen of rural Seymour, Saturday afternoon. Penny was seven years old. Mrs.

Leota Farrington and Miss Winifred Wilhite, both of Centerville and Reno Pister of Quincy, Illinois were Memorial Day dinner pests of Mr and Mrs. Alva Snider. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Goddenof Rock Island, Illinois were Saturday afternoon visitors and Mr.

and Mrs. Lester Dotts of Bethlehem were evening pests in the Snider home. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Owen of Promise City and Mrs.

Jane Tiffany of Corydon were Memorial Day callers of Mrs. Maxine Coffey and sons in Humeston. Callers over Memorial Day in the Ben Coffey home were Mrs. Madge Merrick of Kansas City and Bruce Allred. Mr.

and Mrs. Glen Grant of Fairfield spent Tuesday with his aunt, Mrs. Estella Brattain Thursday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Pettit were visitors in the home, and Saturday callers JV.

City and Mrs. Zell Summers of Ravanna, Missouri and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bell of Unionville, Missouri spent Thursday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs.

Herman Long. Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs, Long were visitors of his sister, Mrs. Flo Whitmore in AJlerton and helped her celebrate her birthday. Congratulations to Mr.

and Mrs. Jim Muse of Corydon who were recently married. Mrs. Muse is the former Linda Mccarty daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Verle McCarty of Promise City, and Mr. Muse is a son of Mrs. Harriett Muse and the late Earl Muse of Arapahoe, Nebraska. They are both employed in Corydon. Mr.
