1, 1909. The board met pursuant to law, all members being present. Minutes of last day's session were read and approved. The clerk laid before the board all bills filed against the county. Following reports were presented ind ordered placed on file: Of the commissioners of insanity ior th month of October.

Of the overseer of the poor for the month of October. Of the nurse of the Scott County 'nfirmary for the month of October. NoUce of the election of Henry J. Wuestenberg as assessor of the town of Donahue by the town council vOct. 1909, In compliance with Section M'i, Code supplement of 1907, was presented and approved.

Official bond of Henry J. Wuesten-oerg was thereupon presented and approved. Petition of A. J. Koester for cancellation of mulct tax assessment against the premises described as 116 East Third street for the fourth quarter Df 1909, said premises no longer being used for the sale or keeping for sale of Intoxicating liquors.

Granted on the recommendation of I. -J. Hild, assessor. Petition of E. Love for refund of $117.64, mulct tax paid on assessment against premises described as 114 Main street for the fourth quarter of 1909, he having disposed of said business on Oct.

20, 1909, to D. B. Burton, by whom the mulct tax was also paid for said quarter. Granted on the recommendation of the county attorney and the assessor. Petition of Ben F.

Luetje, county treasurer, for the cancellation of the personal property assessment against Neipp Miller for 1907, on a valuation of $1,625.00, same having also been assessed in name of and paid by Neipp Miller. Granted. Petition of Eunice A. Martin for cancellation of assessment for 1908 In the sum of $600.00 against Lots 9 and 10, Blk. 14, Original town of Le-Claire, she being the widow of a Union soldier and having received no exemption for said year.

Granted on the recommendation of the assessor of the town of LeClalre. Petitions of I. J. Ilild, assessor, for cancellation of the assessments noted for the year 1908, same being erroneous, were granted as follows: Against the Davenport Improvement on N. 20 feet of Lot 4, Blk.

10, Forrest Dillon's addition, said addition being the second, this property having been acquired by the city of Davenport for alley purposes. Against James Quinn, on S. 54 feet of Lot 11, Blk. 6, Fulton's addition, this property being erroneously assessed to James Quinn instead of to Edward Hatcher, who is entitled to a soldier's exemption. Against August Priess, on personal property of a taxable value of $585.44.

Also the cancellation of dog and poll tax against said August Priess, he being a non-resident Petitions of Ben F. Luetje, county treasurer, and I. J. Hild, assessor, for refunds In the amounts noted and paid by the persons named on erroneous ssessments were granted as follows: To James W. Hoff, 50 cents poll tax paid on assessment against him in Princeton township, for 1908, he having also paid poll tax on assessment against him in LeClalre township.

To Mary Schebler, $3.00 dog tax erroneously assessed, same being double assessment and she having paid on one. Petitions of Ben F. Luetje, county treasurer, for cancellation of poll tax erroneously assessed against the persons Indicated were granted as follows: Against Horace R. Boudinot, City of Davenport township, he having paid same under name of H. Raymond Boudinot.

Against H. R. Boudinot, City of Davenport township, for 1908, he having paid same under name of H. Raymond Boudinot Against Ludwlg Berg In Davenport township, he having paid same in City of Davenport township. Against Herman Nagel, City of Davenport township, he having paid same under name of H.

Nagel. Against M. Healey, City of Davenport township, he having paid said tax under name of Michael Healey. Against Horace R. Boudinot, City of Davenport township, for 1907, he having paid said tax under name of H.

Raymond Boudinot. Claim of the Institution for Feeble minded Children for the quarter end lng Sept. 30, 1909, was presented and ordered paid, the necessary transfer being authorized. On motion, duly seconded and adopted, warrants were ordered drawn on the Bridge fund in favor of the N. M.

Stark Co. on the following claims: For construction of 50-foot concrete arch over Crow creek on the Utica Ridge road, for construction of 18-foot concrete arch at bridge No. on the Walcott road, $900.00, and for eight yards of crushed rock at latter bridge, $19.12. On motion, the board adjourned to TuMday, Nov. 2, 1909 at 10 o'clock i.
