II Ogden Standard-Examiner Tuesday June 1 1985 a ijOunfy men i 9 I iceservoir ment Security Office here Job applications increased 436 over the same 30-day period a year ago The period ended on May 15 Job openings reached 803 which was 200 more than last month and 110 more than the same period a year ago Clerical openings accounted for most of the increase Vacancies now exist for engineers nurses sales personnel restaurant workers and skilled workers of various types Non-farm employment opportunities increase but this was a normal factor for this time Job openings in Ogden took a jump last m6nth but applicants also increased with the closing of schools for the summer according to the Employ-To Receive Law Degree At 'U' Commencement A law degree will be awarded to Dennis Dahl of Ogden at the June 11 commencement at the University of Utah Mr Dahl is a graduate of Davis High School and received his bachelor's degree at the university in 1962 He is the son of Mr and Mrs Einar Dahl of 381 12th and is married to the former Janet Smith of Ogden Two painters employes of Colorite Inc 180 33rd were injured today when they fell 25 feet from a scaffolding at Ogden City's No 3 reservoir at the head of 23rd The two are Edmund Corbett 43 of 585 5175 who has back injuries and Joseph Good-friend 42 of 3910 Jackson who received ankle injuries PAINTING BEAMS Franklin Richards superintendent of the city's department of utilities said the men were finishing painting the steel beams on the recently installed reservoir cover when the mishap occurred- Mr Richards said details are not yet available but it is believed a scaf ELAYNE LIMP Burns Fatal TERRANCE LIMP Died Monday of year the security office re ported Unemployment is set at 3100 persons 200 below last month but 100 more than a year ago at this time Here's the Great Regional Forester Floyd Tver-son Intermountain Regiorit Forest Service announced two key personnel changes today in the Regional Office here Culver Ross has been promoted to the position of chief of the branch of range administration and Carl Baird has been reassigned to the watershed management section in the division of watershed and multiple use management NEW DUTIES Mr Ross' new position will involve the rehabilitation maintenance and improvement of the forage resources of the National Forests of the Intermountain Region A native of Boise Idaho Mr Ross graduated from the University of Idaho in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in forestry Mr Baird's new responsibilities will include coordination of water resource management with other resource management functions land technical guidance to National Forest personnel in the Intermountain Region of the Forest Service A native of Willard Utah Mr Baird graduated from Utah State University in 1946 with a bachelor of science degree in range management It i ioaay me nre originated in a floor furnace probably caused rIGHARA SUIT by cardboard boxes of inflammable material placed on or near the heat outlet of the fur nace i 3v folding collapsed The two were taken in the city ambulance to St Benedict's Hospital for X-ray observation and treatment Extension Office Has New Number The Weber County Extension Service a branch of the Utah State University with offices in the Ogden Post Office Building has a new phone number Tracheotomy operations were performed on both victims to assist breathing in an effort to it Mrs Elayne Hoeffner Limp 30 critically burned in a firs that swept her home six days ago died this morning at 4:15 in the Dee Hospital Her husband 23-year-old Ter-rance Limp died Monday from burns received in the same fire The couple had been in "very critical" condition since the early morning fire May 28 inside their home at 925 23rd Mr and Mrs Limp were pulled from the hallway of the burning house by rescuers Police and firemen found them unconscious on the floor near the door Fire department officials said keep them alive hospital attendants reported Two children of a previous marriage of Mrs Limp were staying with relatives in Lay-ton the night of the fire While the fire was under way firemen searched the house for the children since toys were found in the place (See obituaries on page 14) Patrons are asked to call 399-6377 This is the number at which county and home demonstration agents can be reached AKE FLOWERS BACK TO SPAIN?
