There will be games, with post time at 7:30 p.m. Fans will see the debut of a new wagering system in addition to the traditional Quiniela, Perfecta and "Big systems. Called the "spectacular seven," it has a unique scoring system. The first time through the eight post positions in the eighth and tenth games, each point scored will count as a single point A flashing scoreboard light will then announce to fans that each point scored thereafter counts double value.

The game ends when the first team or player reaches the required seventh game point Speaking of the diversified roster, Mir said the advent of amateur courts, Olympic competition and Fronton schools in Miami, Guernica (Spain), and Mexico City have enabled youngsters to become exposed to the sport at an earlier age. "I feel some of these Americans Cubans and Mexicans too will explode the age-old myth that only Basques can master the game," player manager Pedro Mir said. The season will continue through May 2. "I'll have to loosen up," McKinley was saying yester-. day. He sat in the corner of a' tent with head in hands on the Flamingo Park grounds. "This defeat today was one of the hardest I've ever had to take." Indeed. It was McKinley's last tournament as a junior.

He will turn 19 in August but come this January, he will be considered a senior. Yesterday Meyer forced McKinley to play his game and Bob, the brother of fa-' mous tennis star, Chuck McKinley, could not handle it i "I never ran into a guy like him," Bob said. McKinley, after the serve, would move to the front court only to see Meyer's returning shot go whizzing by him. Monday, Bob had trouble beating Walter Lanz of Ger-many Their match had to go to three sets. "I played poorly Monday," McKinley said.

Jamaica. Special To The Miami News POMPANO BEACH Nine of the 11 drivers posting 20 or more victories last season at Pompano Park Harness Raceway will be in the opening lineup Thursday night when the North Broward track ushers in its sixth season. A large crowd is expected to jam the track for the opening 10-race card as 39-year-old Ted Taylor begins his bid for his 4th championship in six years. The 140-pound Taylor, who last year eclipsed the victory mark for his career and who has won more than 100 races In each of the last four years, led Pompano drivers with 43 triumphs In the 196S 1967, posted 45 firsts, 35 seconds and 37 thirds in 230 starts in the 1968 Pompano season. He finished in the money 51 per cent of his starts.

Taylor's four leading competitors for the most victorious title last season Billy Haughton (38), Gene Sears (31), and Bruce Nickells (29) are also returning. Only Tom Merriman (28) and Ken Heeney (24) of the 20 Victory club are not returning for the new season. Other returnees are Harold Fisher (26), Jack Robinson (24), Jim McCregor (23) and Bill Popfinger (20). Haughton, this sport's leading money winner of all time with more than $12.9 million In earnings, won Pompano's Universal Driver Rating championship last season for the third time in five years with a .942 mark. An observer thought that McKinley might have been practicing too hard for his tournament, considered by many the most prestigous for juniors in the world.

"I was 'up' for this, one! McKinley said. "I've been tod tight. Instead of playing -it cool, I was tight and uncom-. fortable." After the match, winner Meyer told the gallery to call his victory another "French Revolution." Only this time, France's disagreement -was with the United States not Great Britain. Czechoslovakia's Jan PI secky finally won the match that tournament director Dale Lewis called the longest; in Orange Bowl tennis history.

After three hours Pisecky defeated Argentina's Hector Romanl, 10-12, 6-3, 6-2. The top singles affair pre-sents a pairing of the seven players regarded as the best at Dania. Victor will be making a fourth bid to win a third victory and may hold a slight edge over the rest of the lineup from post two. Gorosti scored a triumph in this one recently and should be the contention tonight.

Ulacia and Arana should be out to make amends in the 11th tonight when they were knocked out of the victory on game point recently.
