OVERCOME BY NATURAL GAS Four Residents of the City Suffer Saturday Afternoon, AT THE MOHR HOME ON SOUTH PROSPECT STREET Mr. Mobr Unwisely Closes a Damper in the Pipe of a Heater With the Result That He and Bis Wife and Two Daughters Are Overcome by Burnt Gas Fumes.

As the result of unwisely closing a damper in a natural gas heater, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Mobr of south Prospect street, were overcome by burnt fumes, Saturday afternoon, and for gas a time their condition was critical.

Mr. Mohr, who has been indisposed for some time, closed the damper in the morning 60 that so much heat would not go up the flue. About 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Mrs. E. H. Raffensperger, her daughter, residing next door, saw her mother fall and came to her assistance. She was taken to the Raffensperger home, where she soon revived.

On returning to the Mohr residence, Mr. Mohr was found in a semi-conscious condition. Mrs. Mohr was again overcome and Mrs. Raffesperger was affected.

Mrs. B. P. Sweney, who was called in, also became much affected. Dr.

H. Chier was summoned. On his arrival he immediately detected the fumes of burnt gas and the doors and windows were thrown open. Meantime Dr. E.

H. Raffensperger. who had been informed by telephone at his office, by his daughter, sent a plumber to the Mohr home. The plumber at once discovered that the damper had been closed, resulting in the burnt gas fumes filling the house. While Mr.

and Mrs. Mohr became sick as the result of their exvery perience, their condition is not serious today. COMPANY ENTERTAINED AT THE FETTER HOME Relatives and Friends Are Guests at Nice Dinner Party. Mr. and Mrs.

P. W. Fetter of east street entertained a company of Center friends and relatives at dinner, Sunday. and the day was passed very agreeably by all. Those present were Mr.

As peaceful as the slumber of a death came to Mr. Isaac Cnbabe, one of the oldest and best capher, known residents of Marion county, at noon, today.

of age. and had been a resident of Marion county since 1839. Last March he and his wife, who survives at the age of eighty-five, celebrated their sixtysixth wedding anniversary. They were married in Mercer county, PennsylMarch 8, 1838, and came to this vania, county in the following year, making the trip overland. They took up their residence on the old Uncapher farm, entered in the name of Mr.

Uncapher by his father, and have lived in the county continuously since then. The following children survive: Alpheus and Isaiah Uncapher of Burlington, Kansas; Mrs. Katherine Coons of Kenton, and Mrs. Charles H. Felty, Mrs.

Benjamin Clark. Mrs. Elizabeth Patten and Mr. Francis Uncapher of this city. Mr.
