causeway on which the city proposes to build a seaplane base for private planes. The commission, in a "star chamber" session, took the action on a suggestion of R. V. Waters, president of the Greater Miami Airport association, that such a base would be essential for the large number of privately owned seaplanes coming here each year. Closing next month of the Viking airport on the Venetian causeway, it was pointed out, leaves no available space for these private planes, since facilities at the municipal airport are inadequate to care for them.

25. Effie and Louis Crawtford, happily-reconciled because Louis loves Effie "more'n anything in the world," brought Baby Moses back to the wilderness today where he was born two weeks ago "out behind the woodshed." The natives of the scrub pine forests called at the one-room Crawford cabin to inspect the baby that for a few days they had considered a gift from God brought out of the forest Effie by a large, kindly-dog, and reckoned that Moses was a "right smart youngn." For Effie, most of them had a kind word, although some ignored her. For the most part, the forest dwellers had decided to let bygones be bygones. Effie and Louis put on their best clothes yesterday and crossed Lake Pontchartrain to the New Orleans charity hospital where, since three days after his birth clandestine since Louis didn't so much as know Effie was expecting he had been under expert medical care. "We all's gonna name him Bert J.

Crawford," Effie said. "The Bert J. don't mean anything, but we don't want people calling him Moses." "It's our'n baby," Louis said, "and I don't care which one of Effie's stories was true whether the dog brought the baby or whether Effie had him out behind the woodshed." the Royal Palm club, and Ed Har jf ''f -f In t'i vey with a ukelele took part in the program. i Among those present were Miss, If 4 1 Ul I i I i Mabel Tucker.
