TEE! WAS HOPING THEY'D LC AVE IT A TIE! Planning For A School Career Now that you've had your first full day of school and I've had my first full week of work since my vacation, I think it's time we had another vacation how about it? Yes, vacations are sure a lot of fun it's too bad they don't last longer and there aren't more of them every year.

However, our dreaming and loafing time is now over. Though, as I see it, going to school isn't much different from getting ready to go on a picnic or a fishing trip. You hrve to gather together all of the necessary items for a successful outing before you start out. Anything forgotten or left at home would hamper the venture. And that's the way it is with this school business.

From the time you start your schooling until final graduation, you're supposed to be getting ready for the biggest and most important adventure of your life making your way through the adult world and taking your place in it as a responsible citizen. If you waste this valuable education your parents and teachers are making possible for you, then in later years you're liable to find yourself in the same situation as the boatsman who scoffed at the idea of carrying oars in his motorboat until his motor failed in the middle of the Gulf Stream. So, prepare yourself for adulthood now by taking advantage of every school hour every precious minute. Life may not turn out to be a "picnic" for you, but you'll be able to get more from it If you'll spend time and effort now. Success And A Lesson, Too The Fishing Club is getting ready to send a new fishing reel to member Ray Whiting, 10, of 5471 VV.

"I trolled with cut mullet strips and two hooks." "I caught two bluefish and one grouper. I missed one strike and I got my fingers burned when I grabbed hold of the line." "So, please tell other boys and girls not to grab the line when they catch a fish because it burns and hurts something awful!" I did better than that, Ray I let you tell them. I'm certain that other club members will be careful about this line-grabbing business. 9 In Full Color Sunday aiiiaiiiiiM WHAT I WfiAN IS LSAVIN' FROM NINE TO FIVE By Joe Fischer VOU POC Alg TD COMPORT, AfMSSMA'M'SltefPOSO ENTERTAIN AWy CUBBk 19 KUN CPP WITH AAAI.ll.YN th. Chambers, 32, told police he fell Into the shaft while seeking a place to sleep. The building was being torn down. An unidentified woman stopped two policemen yesterday and said she thought she heard a baby's cry coming from the building.

Police investigated and found Chambers. He said he fell from the second floor, a three-story drop to the basement. Hospital attendants said he suffered a broken leg and severe cuts. "I sure am glad to see you," he told officers when they flashed a light down the shaft ter as the defense could only take three spade tricks plus a possible club trick. John saw that he would have to take the club finesse injo the dangerous West hand and that the only value of the holdup would be if East held the ten spades.

Hence John played the ace right away and the barrier play succeeded. The club finesse lost to West's king and West returned a low spade. East was in with the queen but had no way to get West in and John romped with four no-trump. Hundreds of Different Styles, Colors end Sizes 268 E. FLAGLER ST.

The hold-up play consists of ducking a trick or tricks in order to kill adverse entries. The barrier play is the reverse of the hold-up and consists of taking the first trick in order that the adverse high cards may block the suit for the long hand. Today's hand as played by John Ditto of Chicago is an illustration of a complicated barrier play.

John read West's opening lead of the six of spades as a fourth best and East had to hold exactly one higher card. This card surely was not the eight as that would leave West with king-queen-ten (an automatic king lead). It might be the ten but there was a much better chance that it would be the king or queen. If the opening lead was from a four-card suit, South's play did not mat EST 3 DRIVE IN AND SAVE IT" To help with this demand, new practical shop training course has been developed by one of Miami's leading vocational schools, to qualify men at television service HYPNOTISM CLASSES ivtry I P.M.
