Joseph Szigeti Gives Excellent Recital Here felt interpretation of the Brahms Sonata in Minor, Op. 108. His references had sweep, assurance and tremendous command. Elegance, retinement and complete technical control marked his playing of Corelli'g "La Folia," a set of variations on a 17th Century air, and Bach's familar Prelude and Gavotte from the Partita in Major for violin alone. Also heard in brilliant interpretations were Bloch's "Ni-gun," a free-wheeling improvisation on a Jewish theme, and Szymanowski's delicate-ly written "Fountain of Arethu-sa," in which Szigeti's sensitive phrasing attested to his innate musicianship.

Arthur Balsam's accompaniments were works of art in themselves.
