The sigh of relief from the station's cameramen and technicians will be audible for 20 blocks. Since VVPST began operations last Aug. 2 all telecasts have originated from incredibly cramped quarters in an aging, frame house located behind the new studio. Local programs were set up In a room 20 by 12 feet. When the station telecast a live teenage dance show, the kids had to dance on the lawn while the camera filmed the action through a window.

This will be a thing of the past as of tomorrow morning. The main studio in the new building is 80 feet long, 50 feet wide and two stories high. Can Divide Studio The studio can be divided into two areas by use of a soundproof folding door. There is a large picture window 24 feet long, 9 feet high at one corner of the studio. Walter Koessler, general manager of the station, plans a new hour-long live local show, probably beginning at noon.

(Ted) Baker, president of National Airlines which is the sole owner of WPST, is a staunch advocate of 'public service programs. Channel 10 thus plans to expand local programing. Favors Local Shows Jack Barry, operation manager, hopes to "revive the forgotten art," feeling there are too few local live shows emanating from Miami. "We plan an effort to bring television closer to the people of Miami," Mr. Barry said.

"We want the viewers to get to know our performers." With the move to new quarters, Channel 10 also plans to expand its schedule. At present the station signs on at 10:15 a.m. and signs off at 12:45 p.m. In a short time the programs will start at 9 a.m.; eventually will begin even earlier. The new building is fireproof and air-conditioned.

Administrative and sales offices are located on the first Door; the upper level houses the control center, news room, production staff, and copy offices.
