He is the son of Jeff and Jeannene Yantis. The bride-elect graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a of science. She graduated from EIU with a masters of science degree in school counseling in 2012.

She is employed as a school counselor at Arthur Grade School. Her fiance graduated from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a of science in nursing. He will graduate with a masters of science in nursing with a family nurse practitioner certificate from Olivet in 2017. He is employ ed at Carle Hospital in Urbana. They plan to be married Sept.

3, at the Oak Terrace Resort. ENGAGEMENT Grissom reunion held GREENUP The Grissom reunion was held at Christ the King Parish Hall in Greenup on July 17. Present were Brenda Hampsten, Debbie Wilson, Max and Mary ougill, Don and Ellen Clark, Jeff and Rawlin Cougill, Susie Brown, Gary Goodman, Tara Lane, Richard and Joanne Grissom, Jim and Kay Hunsaker, Juanita McBride, Sherri Lindsay and Selena, Curt Grissom, John and Evelyn Young, Carol and Ed Thomas, Sue and Roger Grissom, Tom Grissom, Evelyn Roan, Max and Elizabeth McCullough, Joe and Vicki Woodard, June Mc Cullough, Debra Croy Jenkins, Jesse Gonzalez, and David Floyd. Descendants of Nelson and Thomas Grissom have held a joint reunion for 66 years. These two brothers relocated from Indiana in the mid-1800s.

Nelson moved to Toledo, and Thomas to Greenup. Following a short business meeting, group pictures of descendants were taken. Max McCullough was elected treasurer, and Evelyn Roan secretary. McCullough set up a closed group on Facebook for the joint reunion. Organizers acknowledged that Pat Kuhn worked on Mary headstone at the Nebo Cemetery in Union Center.

Items of genealogical interest from Gary Goodman were on display including his high school diploma dated 1920; a letter from Theodore Cutright of the settling of Mary estate; and the birth certificate of his grandmother, Wretha Grace Grissom dated Dec. 13, 1902. She was born in Union Township, Cumberland County. Also, Max McCullough had a collage of photos of his grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents. Deaths included Lela Grissom, Rogene (Ruth) Grissom, and Bill Roan.

Marriages included Jeremy James to Angela McCullough Shelton, and Brandon Barnes to Nicole West. Births included Skyler Sims, Carter Sims, August Samuel Jansen, Alyvia Hame Gramelspacher, London Grace Steeples, and Henry Warren Roy Barnes. REUNIONS PARIS The Tarble Arts Center has announced that the Cultivating Creativity Art Exhibition will be on display at the Paris Carnegie Public Library, 207 Main St. Aug. 28 during normal business hours.

Library hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and Tuesday; and 10 a.m-4 p.m. Saturday. The library is clo sed on Sunday.

The Cultivating Creativity Art Exhibition displays the most outstanding art produced by school art programs throughout East-Central Illinois during the 2014-2015 school year. Each year, one student from every contributing school is selected to participate in the exhibition that circulates throughout the region during the next academic year. This year the exhibit will travel to 14 area communities and displays the work of 48 student. Students from Paris area schools represented in the 20152016 exhibition are Karsee Chenhall, Chrisman-Scottland Junior High School; Asa Hoult, Chrisman Elementary School; Tylor Krag Chrisman High School; Kanon Misawa, Carolyn Wenz Elementary School; Mya Smit tkamp, St. School; Cooper Soberg, Crestwood School; and Paven Walker from Memorial Elementary School.

Chenhall created Town with colored pencil as an eighth grader at Chrisman-Scottland Junior High School under the dir ection of Chelsea Vineyard. In the second grade at Chrisman Elementary School, Hoult created Holding with crayon under the direction of Chelsea Vineyard. Also under the instruction of Chelsea Vineyard, Krage created with India ink and watercolor as a sophomore at Chrisman High School. As a fifth grader at Carolyn Wenz Elementary School, Misawa created Heart with pastel and tempera under the direction of Jessica Mayhugh. Under the direction of Christi McClain, Smittkamp made with paper as a first grader at St.

School. As a fourth grader at Crestwood School, Soberg made with paper under the instruction of Mary St. Clair. In the first grade at Memorial Elementary School, Walker created Love, with oil pastel and watercolor under the instruction of Jessica Mayhugh. Cultivating Creativity is a community engagement program created by the Tarble Arts Center to help raise awareness of the importance of including the arts as part of the regular school curriculum.

Donnelly on July 28 after 46 years of service. Phelps was hired in 1970 as a material handler in the patent bindery.

He was promoted to apprentice maintenance machinist In 1971 and graduated from the pro gram in 1974. He was promoted to the advanced craft program in 1975. With the completion of that program, Phelps was promoted to supervisor of the building and equipment area in 1979. He was promoted to a manufacturing supervisor In 1991 and transferred to MBL specialist in 1994. Phelps was promoted to central stores crew leader on 2005 and to his current position of building maintenance and central stores crew leader in 2007.

Phelps and his wife, Connie, reside in Neoga. They have three daughters and five grandchildren. Crow celebrates 40th service anniversary at MATTOON Dean Crow celebrated his 40th service anniversary with R.R. Donnely on July 26. He started his career with RRD in 1976 and started his apprenticeship as a roll tender-ink man in 1977.

Crow was promoted to assistant press lead 1982. Crow and his wife, Connie, reside in Mattoon and have one daughter. NAMES IN THE NEWS.
