A resolution was adopted asking for restrictive legislation against the Johnson grass, or any grass or hay that interferes with proper agricultural development. A committee was appointed to prepare a bill for the revision of the tax laws, and a bill providing for, a state marketing commission under the department or agriculture. The legislature was petitioned to submit to the people of the state a constitutional amendment fixing the tax rate for general funds of the state and county at not exceeding one and one-half per cent. U. played in the matter was to have been the selection or a matron. Mr. Erfert had the matter In charge and finally put the work of selecting a matron and the furniture on that committee. Mrs.

W. A. Goodburn is chairman of the committee. When I heard that the Woman's club had the responsibility of the selection of the furniture, I was surprised, because $500 bad been given to the W. C.

T. U. for that purpose. I understood, too, that the city had enough suitable furniture left from some previous great deal of pleasure when he sees the boys enjoying themselves. Not many yars ago he sold papers on the street himself, and through his ability and determination he rose to the top in the show world.

Large Crowd at Shows. A big crowd attended the Kennedy shows last night, and bad a grand glorious time on the midway. They time on the midway. They mado enjoyed each and every one of the attractions. It carried them back to the days when they were and drove away all trouble and worries.
