Rickey terrel kicked the first of three conversions. On the next Tulsa possession, a bad pass from center sailed over Bennett's head. Nobles scored his second touchdown on another one-yard keeper after Burl Fuller had intercepted a pass by Tulsa's Steve Bowling at mid field.

Houston had two first-half field goal attempts, both from the eight yard line. Each was wide of the goal posts. It was Andrade's third consecutive game rushing for more than 100 yards. With the score tied 13-13 in the third quarter Hobbs moved the Indians ahead with a one-yard plunge that ended a 61-yard drive. Three minutes later McMurry scored again when Hobbs tossed an eight-yard-pass to James Page. Randy Store kicked field goals of 24 and 25 yards for McMurry.

McMurry now stands at 2-1 for the season while Western New Mexico is winJess in two starts. Gomez went 25 yards and Ruben Gomez scored on the Wishbone-T veer option from tne eight and six. Two of the three kick efforts were not good but Ruben Gomez booted one to give Balmorhea the scoreboard 25-0 atthehalf. In the third quarter, Juan Casias scored from a yard away and Ruben Gomez again tacked on the PAT for a 32-0 lead as the last period began. In the last quarter, Victor Tarin scored on a two-yard run and Juan Jiminez went 19 paces for the final TDof the tilt.

Casias added both extra points to make the final 4W in favor of the Bears. Friday night Balmorhea High School will have its annual homecoming with the football game between the Bears and Grandfalls as the main attraction. The Buffaloes snapped a five game winning steak with the victory and pushed their Missouri Valley Conference record to 1-1. Colorado State is not a conference member, but the game was a designated conference game for the Buffs. Colorado State, which had trouble with turnovers, during its first two games of the season, had six Saturday night-four lost fumbles and two pass interceptions. The Rams lost their third straight game of the season in three starts. The Buffaloes had nine turnovers in their season-opening loss to Drake, 40-12 last week, but suffered but one Inter ception Saturday night.
