Brewer 71, of Decatur, IL passed away at 1:33 p.m., Tuesday April 19, 2016, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois Charitable Fund or Evergreen Senior Living. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.daw Carol was born August 22, 1944, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Jesse and Marjorie (Davis) Workman.

She married James Brewer. She retired from Tate and Lyle. Carol enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. She was active in planning her Class of 1962, Mt. Zion High School reunions and enjoyed following her children in all of their musical talents.

Carol was a member of the Checkerboard Squares, a square dance group led by Bill Rutherford and sponsored by Ralston Purina. They performed at state fairs, local county fairs, and other special occasions. Surviving are her son: David D. Brewer (Kerri) of Decatur; daughter-in-law: Tina Waddington of Decatur; brothers: Dale Workman and his wife Linda of Decatur and Ted Workman and his wife Linda of Decatur; grandchildren: Douglas A. Brewer, Jared Brewer Alana), Johnathon Bunton, Joshua Waddington (Mari), and Stephanie Waddington Zack); eight great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter: Donna Jean Biggs. David had worked for the Dunn Co.

David Grant Joynt DECATUR Evelyn Jeanne Joynt, 84, of Decatur passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Evelyn was born on August 21, 1931 in Decatur the daughter of Charles and Evelyn Fern (Garren) Moore. She married Paul Joynt on June 12, 1953 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2012. Surviving are her daughter Deborah Adams and husband Loren of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, James Moore, and sister, Marilyn Braden.

McAdam DECATUR Mildred Ann Phillips McAdam, 89, of Decatur died of complications related to Disease on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Huron Woods of Trinity Health in Ypsilanti, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur.

Visitation with family will take place after the service in the Church Library. Mickey was born April 21, 1926 and raised in Minonk, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois and enjoyed a long tenure as a math teacher at Roosevelt Middle School in Decatur. Mickey was the mother of six children. Mickey was preceded in death by her husbands Fred (d. 1955) and Joe (d. 2013). She is survived by her six children and six grandchildren. In honor of Mickey, a special fund has been established at the Decatur Public Schools Foundation.

A service to celebrate life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL with Rev. William Abbott and ev. Brock Abbott co-officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion and from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday morning.

Dixie began her work career with the Mt. Zion State Bank and retired from the bank at Prairie State Bank and Trust in Mt. Zion after forty-five years of service. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She was an accomplished pianist and for years served as a church organist in the Mt.

Zion area. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flower gardens. She loved being with her family. Surviving are her sisters: Joyce Ames and her husband Ronald of Mt. Zion and Linda Workman and her husband Ted of Decatur; brother: William Sullivan and his wife Sandra of Lynchburg, VA; step daughter: Lori Knapp and her husband Curt of Decatur; step son: James T.

Rucker of Decatur; five step grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Obituary written by family members. Dixie Rucker Streaty DECATUR Charles E. Streaty 80, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, April 20 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital after a long battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome and Leukemia.

Chuck was born February 18, 1936 in Kokomo, IN, the son of Charles E. and Lorraine (Brooks) Streaty Sr. He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1952. He took night classes at a branch of Indiana University while working full-time. In 1956, he transferred to Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where he majored in Chemistry.

He finished his Degree requirements at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN the fall of 1958. Chuck was drafted into the U.S. Army in January of 1959. He proudly served his country as a member of the 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, TX. Where he was an instructor in Chemical Warfare (CBR) He was honorably discharged in 1961.

After being discharged, Chuck worked briefly at Reilly Tar Chemical in Indianapolis, IN. In 1962, he was hired by A.E. Staley Manufacturing to work in research. He retired from A.E. Staley Manufacturing (Tate Lyle) in 1995 as a Senior Research Chemist.

Chuck married Harriett Williamson McCutcheon in 1975. They were married for 40 wonderful years before Harriett died on February 28, 2016.They were members of Ss. James Patrick Parish. Chuck was an avid recreational sportsman. He enjoyed softball, bowling, and golf.

In 1971, he won scratch singles at the Eldorado Bowl Tournament. He was a die-hard Cubs fan. Funeral Liturgy to celebrate life will be 1 PM Monday, April 25, 2016 in Fairlawn Funeral Home with Rev. John Burnette presiding. Private burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Charles Streaty Jr. ARMY CENTRAL ILLINOIS Bertha Kruger dies at 100 STEWARDSON Bertha Marie Kruger went to her heavenly peace on April 19, 2016. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Kruger was born on October 31, 1915 in her home at Stewardson, IL.

She was the daugh er of Louis and Gertrude (Walts) Klepzig. Bertha married Fred August Kruger April 15, 1934 in Stewardson. They had one daughter Ellen Jean. Bertha was preceded in death by husband, daughter, one sister and three brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories a son-in-law Clifford Clark of Decatur; two grandchildren Carla (Luis) Paz of Decatur, Kevin (Laurie) Clark of Palm Harbor, four great grandchildren Matthew Clark of Montgomery, AL, Andrew Clark, Mallory Clark both of Palm Harbor, FL, Ellie Paz of Decatur and several nieces and nephews.

Bertha was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson. Bertha enjoyed her 100 years on earth. She traveled in her younger years, loved to garden, quilting and being with her family. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a visit a tion starting at 10:00 a.m.
