Milo House 437 4725 told the City Council he thinks it much better to injure the lawns His appearance before the council was to complain about Off the signs at two locations Councilman Douglas Palmer in charge of parks said signs were placed because lack of water has turned the grass brown and that any degree of footwear would ruin the turf His fellow councilmen more or less agreed with this position but later decided to permit youngsters use of the parks and take a chance that the lawns would be damaged Mr House said after the youngsters had turned to the streets to play they were warned by police that a second offense would mean that parents would be fined Sen Bennett said he will meet with Navy officials as soon as the conservancy district clears up the delivery question The NSD and Clearfield are connected by a six-inch water maip built in World War II to serve the Anchorage then a naval housing project When Clearfield City took over that area it hooked It up with the city water system question now is 'will the pressure in this line permit the flow of any appreciable amount of water from NSD into the Clearfield Mr Fjeldsted there is reasonable pressure in this line we could get six acre feet a day This would give us an important secondary water supply this year to serve customers now faced with skimpy or no water Mr Fjeldsted said Among those would benefit if the water purchase comes off are some 1600 residents south i of the Ogden River who had their irrigation water from Pine View Reservoir shut off because the conservancy district has no water lo deliver to the South Ogden Conservation District which serves them Mr Fjeldsted said he could not estimate yet how much water these home owners might get it the additional water becomes available will have to deliver it through a distribution ratio that would give everyone a fair share he said Meanwhile the conservancy district is continuing to explore other sources of water for its customers and Ogden City although not faced by a shortage is preparing to crack down on water wasters for the first time in years AIRPORT WELLS The City Council has under study a conservancy district offer to buy water from city wells at the airport The conservancy district first offered $7 an acre foot then raised it to $8 for water from these wells The district would then exchange this water with the city for an
