The day Sean died, Tucker said, Gugat told her she thought Sean had died from a heart problem because doctors had told her he had a minor heart problem. Then at the funeral home the next day. Tucker rsaid, Gugat told her Sean had talked about a dog when he woke up sweating and complaining of stomach pain at 2 a.m.the morning he died.

Gugat told Tucker the baby sitter's dog had jumped on Sean before he died. Later, during a telephone call from jail, Gugat told Tucker she couldn't believe the police wouldn't accept that someone had come into Sean's room in the middle of the night and killed him. Tucker said Gugat told her a neighbor had reported a prowler in the alley behind her house the night Sean died. Lancaster County Attorney Gary Lacey said earlier that Sean died of multiple blunt force or trauma to the stomach. The autopsy revealed the child died of peritonitis, which is an inflammation of the membrane that lines the wall of the abdomen and covers the abdominal organs.

YtgSL Cswssr, H.S.W. FOR DEFICIENCY One of the many changes, that seniors experience as they get older is a decreased ability to produce and absorb vitamin D. This fat-soluble, complex organic substance is essential for depositing phosphorus and calcium in bones and teeth, as well as helping the kidneys and intestines maintain, the body's calcium. At one time, children were most at risk for vitamin deficiency and, in severe cases, developed the bone-deforming disease of the skeletal system known as rickets. Vitamin D-fortified baby milk, and milk products helped eliminate that concern, which now shifts to the elderly.

Typically, the older person who does not get enough vitamin 0 will complain of diffuse bone pain, a symptom which may raise misguided concern over osteoporosis; however, this bone-thinning disease does not cause pain. If severe vitamin deficiency goes on long enough, it can bring depression, fatigue, and muscle weakness. Nutrition is important throughout our lives, but it is especially important as we get older. If you are an older adult who needs assistance with day-to-day activities, contact ORCHARD PARK RETIREMENT COMMUNITY at 488-6191. Our environment provides structure within which an individual can function independently.

Nutritious meals encourage healthful eating. Housekeeping and laundry services mean clean rooms, linen and clothes for residents. Personal care staff on duty 24-hours-a-day insure resident security and conduct planned activities. We are located at 3110 South 48th St. Senior should take 800 htematlcml Units of vitamin 0 per day, in amount which dowi for the lad that skin production of the vitamin and Intestinal absorption art dimirWhid.
