Ken Squier, CBS Sports' Motor Sports Editor, will cover the Champion 400, Bill Muncey will serve as expert analyst for the Gold Cup, and England's Grand Prix veteran, Stirling Moss, will report on the Austrian Grand Prix. Cale Yarborough, Benny Parsons, Richard Petty and Bobby Allison are locked in one of the tighest duels in decades for the Grand National driving title, with only 186 points separating Yarborough, in first place, from Allison in fourth. The Champion 400 will be a major step in determining the title. David Pearson, seven times a winner at the Michigan event, but not challenging for the national title this year, will also be at Brooklyn, considered by Squier as the most competitive NASCAR track anywhere. Among the top competitors in the hydroplane championship will be Muncey, driving Atlas Van Lines; Tom D'Eth in Miss Us; E. Milner Irvin in Myr Sheet Metal; and Ron Snyder in Miss Madison. Vittorio Brambilla, rem- bering the fearful, rain- shortened race of last year when officials closed down the "skating rink" at lap 29, is the defending champion in the Austrian Grand Prix.
