Northeast's David Mercer and pontinued from Page 1C "It's definitely hard to stop all three aspects of the option. I think you saw that against Oklahoma," said Frost, referring to NU's 69-7 win last Saturday. "Oklahoma was really concerned about taking away the option game outside. They had a lot of people stacked up on the outside, and when you've got a guy like Joel running up the middle he hit a couple seams and just took the ball all the way. You can't really concentrate on one thing and be very successful on stopping the option." Despite losing to NU 51-7 last season, Missouri had some success defending the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska rtished for only 299 yards. The Husker defense set up 21 points with turnovers, scored a safety, and special teams scored on blocked punt. "They're trying to be a physical team and trying to win that way," Frost said of the Tigers, "and they were definitely more physical than most of the teams we played last year. Based on that, I think I saw that they were a team on the rise." At 6-3, Missouri is guaranteed of its first winning season since 1983 on a roll right now," Frost said. "A lot of people are making a lot of this game.

"It's an away game with an upset-minded team. It's our first game of the year on grass. There's a lot of things that go into it We're going to have to be ready to play as good a game as we've played for quite awhile this year." I-back Jay Sims practiced Tuesday and Wednesday and should be available to play.
