This jilay by Paul Armstrong, dramatized from Henry's story, "A Iietrieved Reformation," made a distinct hit and played a long run at the Gayety Theatre in Xew York, and has been played by stock and-road companies ail over the country for a number of years, but its popularity apparently remains undiminished and will doubtless retain this degree of popular favor if its future presentations are made by such a vrr cast of thes-pians as those handed together under the Lewis-Worth banner. Gene proved more than equal to the difficult role of Lee Kandall, doing 10 years for burglary, under the alias of Jimmy Valentine.

This week's attraction is a distinct success and presented in most entertaining and pleasing fashion with one or two minor exceptions. To praise than Remington did for his work last week in "The Broken Wing" would have ample cause to indulge bis vanity, and his work this week, judging from the enthusiasm of the audience, was almost as good. He played the part of a "hard-boiied" detwtive, which is an unpopular one, and made a hit with it. Two members of the company who are doing splendid work are Ed Beach and Klock Ryder.
