They know Canton, and Messrs. Wm. S. Yardley, C. Wesley Ruffell, Stowell and Fuller, of Philadelphia, started for a tour through Canton Glen.

They arrived at the top of the Glen at about half-past 11 o'clock, and vigorously commeuced the descent. From the beginning walking was out of the question, sliding, crawling, jumping and falling was the order of the hour. "Doc" seemed to enjoy himself hugely, in the performance of athletic feats. Messrs. Yardley, Wright and Ruffell at one time, at the second falls, were noticed hanging by the teeth over a very.

dangerous chasm, but owing to the strenuous exertion of Messrs. Butt and Bullock, (who were equal to "Doc" at athletic feats,) were safely brought from their disagreeable position. Mr. SUiott at times displayed great agility, for a man of his years, in leaping from rock to rock, but after indulging in that interesting sport for a time, missed his footing and was presented gratuitously with a fine cold bath In the middle of the creek. That gentleman gave no evidence of the least aanoyance at his mishap.

Nothing very serious occurred to mar the pleasures of the occasion until about 4 o'clock, when a sinking sensation was felt about the "lower region," which gave1 evidence that a good square meal would be very acceptable. The scenery in the Glen is very imposing. No less than seven waterfalls rush in torrents, in some Instances with a fall of thirty or forty feet. Some ot the views in the Glen are really as fine as any to be found at Onoko or Watkins, but limited space will not allow a lengthy description. Owing to the short time that has elapsed since general notice has been directed to the same, it is not very often traveled, nor will it be until some enterprising capitalist takes hold of it and makes improvements that would make au inspection of it a pleasure, tit its present condition it is not the finest place lor travel on the continent.

Persons visiting the Glen, would act wisely in wearing rubber boots and waterproof clothing, A pack mule would also be very serviceable, and In this case would have attracted more attention and admiration than rocks, trees, and waterfalls. c. w. b. springs and a stroll through the tine woods.
