Ratliff. 61. of 212 Richland proprietor of Ratliff Nursing Home. Shelby, died in Mansfield General Hospital Friday afternoon following a short Mr. 1 Ratliff was born in Pike County, and lived in this area since 1948.

He was a former coalminer and operated the nursing home. Surviving are his wife, Mr, Ruth W. Bailey Ratliff: three daughters, Mrs. Donnie (Wiwi!) Spillman, Shiloh, Mrs. Joseph (Sharrey) Justice, Mansfield, and Mrs.

Stephen (Debbie) Snyder, Mansfield; one son Russell O. Ratliff, Shelby, one sister Mrs. George (Alice) Phillip, Seattle, Wash. and 14 grandchildren. Services will be conducted in Finefrock's Monday at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Schwartzkopf Mrs. Lorene M. Schwartzkopf, 79, of 400 West Fourth wife of Thomas E. Schwartzkopf, died in Mansfield General Hospital, Friday evening, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Schwartzkopf was born in Cleveland, May 23, 1895, and had been a resident here for the past 65 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Golden Age Club, and Friendly House. Surviving besides her husband are four daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Rollins of Crest line.

Mrs. Winifred Bly, 94 fill 'crest Mrs. Betty Brooks of Hamilton, and Mrs. Lorene Paramore of Crest line: two sons, Glen R. Hanlon of St.

Louis and David Thompson of Clearwater. one step daughter. Mrs. Mary ApsoIon, of Hillard and one sept son Thomas E. Schwartzkopf.

Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Harry Weak ley Harry L. Weak ley, 86, of 504 Fleming Falls died Friday in the Rosemont Nursing Home after an extended illness. Ile was born June 4.

1888 in Fairfield County and had lived here since 1962. Mr. Weak ley was a retired construction worker. He is survived four sons, Franklin and Curtis both of Lancaster, Gerald of Florida and Donald of Co. lumbus: one daughter, Dorothy Lassellet of Lancaster; one step daughter, Mrs.

Geraldine Aby of Mansfield and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Weakley made his home with Lawrence and Ann Ware for the past 13 years. Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wappner Funeral Home in Mansfield by The Rev.

Ralph E. Smith. Jr. of the First Open Bible Church. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening. Woman Dies Ona Laura Tingley, 89, of Mansfield, died Friday at Oak Park, Ill. after a seven-month illness. Miss Tingley, a member of a pioneer Richland County family, was born in Mansfield Sept. 17, 1885.

She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church here. She moved to Oak Park in 1935. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ada Ruth and a brother, Frank both of Mansfield, and several nieces and nephews here. Graveside services at Mansfield Cemetery will be Monday at 3 p.m.

He had managed a clothing store in Akron and later was proprietor of a sports center in Loudonville. Due to ill health he retired in 1962 and has resided in Galion since then.

He is survived by his wife, Anna: two step-daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Roberta) Shoup of Milan and Mrs. Lonnie (Diane) Pollard of Loudonville; four step. grandchildren. Services will be in the Fickes Funeral Home 2 p.m.

I I is Services GALION Services for Fred Tullis, 79, of Houston, Texas, a former Galion resident, will be held Monday at 3 p. m. at the Hannah Funeral Home at Blanchester. the town where he was born. Burial will be at Blanchester.

Tullis died Thursday in Conroe Community Hospital in Texas. He came to Galion in 1929 from Florida and was employed 35 years as a mechanical superintendent for the Galion Inquirer. He moved to California in 1964 and later to Texas. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; a daughter. Mrs.

C. S. (Barbara Sue) Bennett of Conroe, Texas; six grandchildren, a sister and two brothers. By Shot gunshot wound of the right foot. sheriff's deputies said.

Hive ly, 22, of Danville, RD 2. Dr. Darran Huggins, Ashland County Coroner, said Hive ly was dead at the scene. According to the state lively, an employe at the Flxible Co. in Loudonville, was on his way to Danville, southbound on Route 3.

An auto owned by Gary L. Kent, 18, of Danville, RD 2, was stopped in the road and Kent was out of the car. A third car, driven by Thomas A. Vernon, 26, of Loudonville, had stopped behind Kent's car and was backing up when Ilivelys car came into sight. Patrolmen said Kent ran toward the front of his car and Hively's auto hit him and then his car.

The Hively car then went broadside into Vernon's auto. Kent was transferred from Kettering Hospital in Loudonville to Mercy Ilospital in Mt. Vernon. There was no condition report on him at the hospital this morning. Vernon and his wife, Dorothy a passenger, were treated and released at Kettering Hospital.

11 1,, Chandler LOUDONVILLE Mrs. Ada E. Chandler, 87, of Loudonville died Friday at the Will-O-Rest Nursing Home in Ashland after a long illness. She was born May 30, 1887 near Loudonville and spent Classes In Art Planned A children's non-traditional art workshop and a course in photo silkscreen printmaking will be offered at the Mansfield Campus by James Hogg, instructor of art education. The children's workshop will run four weeks on Saturdays from 10 a.m.

to 12 noon, beginning Feb. 1. It will involve the child in nontraditional creative activities. designed to stimulate his creative potential and to develop his aesthetic judgments. Children age eight to 13 are eligible with a maximum of 30 children set for the class.

There will be a material and instructional fee. The basic techniques of photo silkscreen printmaking will be taught on Thursdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for six weeks beginning Jan. 30. The course will deal with an introduction to several photographic silkscreen techniques.

A prior knowledge of general silkscreen printing will be helpful but is not necessary. The student should have a silkscreen printing frame, but information for frame construction will be given to those who do not have one. There will be instructional and materials fees for the course. The maximum number of students for the class is 20 with the minimum set at 10 students. For further information.

UPI) A three member surgical team conducted a two hour operation that was termed a -complete success" but it will take another operation before the the patient can fly again. The patient is 'Thunder. a rare eight pound bald eagle with a six foot wing span and a fractured right leg.

Dr. James Roush. one of six veterinarian surgeons in the nation specializing in the care of wild birds of prey. said it would take several months and another operation before the bird. one of an endangered species.

Mrs. Baker SHELBY Mrs. Harriette L. Baker, 82, died at 12:15 p.m., yesterday at Crestwood Care Center here. She was a retired registered nurse and had lived in Kenton for 24 years.

She had lived in Bucyrus before coming to Shelby. She was born in Tidioute, Pa. and was a member of the alumni association of St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo. Survivors include her son.

John W. of Huntingdon Valley, a sister. Mrs. Eve-line Van Dell of Detroit and Iwo grandsons. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m.

(UPI) Three young brothers drowned in a small pond in this Cayuga County town. The boys, Kevin McCarthy, 9, Michael McCarthy, 8. and Patrick McCarthy, 6, all of Montezuma, were pronounced dead on arrival at Auburn Memorial Hospital, the Cayuga County Sheriff's office said. The McCarthys' were playing with II year old John Kyle of Montezuma on the frozen pond when Patrick walked too far out and fell through the ice into about six feet of water, deputies said. Michael ran out onto the pond to save Patrick.

A former fireman on the old LANS Railroad and a former employe of the Westinghouse Corp. of Mansfield for 15 years, he was a retired employe of the Ashland County Highway' Department. Ile is survived by his wife. Elizabeth; a brother, Lester of Carp Lake, three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy Jean) Milligan of Canton, Mrs.

C. E. (Connie June) Helm and Ellen Se-mans both of Ashland; five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the DenbowPrimm Funeral Home by the Rev.

Mrs. Kirtland was a native of Cleveland and spent most of her life in Galion. She was a graduate of Galion High School. She taught piano and organized and directed the Bell Choir of Grace Brethren Church. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

She was also a member of the One Driver Cited State highway patrolmen said Mrs. Baldridge's car was northbound on Spring-mill, making a left turn onto Belmont when the south-bound car of Darrell Kirsch, 17, of Mansfield, RD 2. ran into the side of her car at 4:15 p.m. The accident is still under investigation. Kirsch wasift injured.

residence last July 22. Richland County Common Pleas Court Judge James J. Mayer ordered that the first 30 days of the probation be served in the county jail, but gave Taylor credit for time already confined. He has been released from custody. Pre-sentence investigations were ordered for five persons who pleaded guilty to criminal charges when they appeared before Judge layer and Judge Rex Larson.

Ph. Burton reportedly was ihit in the face with a rock as he investigated the wire theft at Westinghouse. Marshall was indicated by the grand jury for aggravated robbery after being bound over from juvenile court for as an adult. The prosecutor's office amended the charge against Marshall to robbery. the against Altlers from burglary and grand theft charges Kochheiser and Bishop to misdemeanor theft.
