In 1910, she. provided visi.t- ine nurse service, clinic super vision and industrial nursing. for municipal employees.

With" Dr. Alien T. Gillihan, first full time health officer; she initiated 'the city's disease, con trol program in .1914 She was director of nursing service, head nurse and immuni zatiori'Tiurse. She retired in 1939 after more 30 years continuous service. Mist Schmits studied nursine at the San Francisco County rest home, she lived at: 481 44th St, She is survived by a brother, Carl W.
