YOUR CLASSIFIED ADS, CA 5-1611 WOMEN IN ACTION Where Counting Really Counts February 11, 1962 San Antonio EXPRESS and NEWS WF Miss Winans Plans June Wedding Rite By GENE WAUGH Staff Writer Counting 15,000 pills a day by a volunteer can relieve personnel at Robert B. Green Hospital for several hours of work requiring professional training. Such pill counting is the volunteer work of Mrs. Edward H. Sn- kolowski, new president of the 193 members of the Women's Auxiliary to Bexar County Hospital District.

Mrs. Sokolowski, a former secretary, worked until she moved to San Antonio with her family. Not working professionally, she sought, useful volunteer work to do. A friend suggested volunteer work with the Auxiliary to the Bexar County Hospital District. This she did and found she gained both new friends and the satisfaction of doing for others.

Mrs. Hugo Elmendorf, the first vice president, began her work at the hospital when she went there to assist a friend in making Easter decorations for the intern's dining room one year. She has been there as a volunteer even since. A great-grandmother, Mrs. Elmendorf has found her work at the hospital not only soul-satisfying but an excellent way to fill hours left vacant by grown children.

She works in the OB (obstetric) Clinic or in medical records. She has a very personal connection with the hospital as her daughter, Mrs. Robert G. Tonkin, now a grandmother herself, did her training there as a medical technologist. contributing Auxiliary members; are also welcomed.
