Attend Church Somewhere Church Plans 50-Year Fete HALFWAY, April 19 golden anniversary of (he organization of First Baptist Church of Halfway will be celebrated Saturday and Sunday. Activities will include a rally Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday worship at 11 a.m., dinner on lhc ground al noon, and a church reunion at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Bob Schmellekolph, pastor, who will bring the anniversary sermon, announces Ihat all former pastors, members and friends have been iuvilcd lo attend Ihe observance. Halfway is 15 miles west of Plainyiew on Highway 70.

Initial meetings of the congregation in 1913 were held in the public school building. Worship services later were held in (he Methodist Church. The basement of the present edifice was built in 1929. aid lh structure was completed at a later date, The present building and parsonage arc valued at $72 000. Eight of the 23 charter members arc still living.
