Davis threw for 240 yards four touchdowns, and he led the Marauders (10-1) on three straight time-consuming drives that put the Oklahoma school in a hole that its run-oricntcd offense couldn't overcome. The Itedmen (7-5), the defending champions, went thrcc-and-out on three of five possessions from midway through the first quarter until early in the fourth, when the game was out of reach. Davis threw pinpoint passes all game, and the Marauders got a strong, balanced rushing attack. They wound up with 217 yards rushing, and Omega Porcher, with 51 yards, was one of six players with at least 28 yards rushing. Central State also won NAIA championships in 1982, 1990 and 1992.

The Marauders, the highest scoring offense in the NAIA at 38.6 points a game, were forced to punt on its first two possession after getting just two first downs. They finally got untracked after a recovering a fumble, and then not even wind gusts of up to 30 mph could slow them. Davis led them on drives of 80, 51 and 88 yards as they built a 24-7 lead midway through the third quarter. Fumbles by each team led to early touchdowns. Sean Sharpe jarred the ball loose from Northeastern State tailback Mitch Green, and Davis hit Jason Shelley on a 21-yard TD pass on the next play for a 7-0 lead.

Central State was driving again, but after Shelley caught a short pass in the flat, Johnny Bilby stripped him of the ball and recovered the fumble. On the next play, J.J. Eckert fuked a reverse and hit Jared Grose in stride for a 55-yard touchdown thul tied the game at 7. The Marauders wore down Northeastern State in the Becond quarter with two drives that resulted in 10 points and a 17-7 lead at halftime. Bret Macy intercepted two Shane Nelepa passes in the fourth quarter to preserve the victory. His second interception with 3:53 left on a fourth-and-goal play at the Findlay 5 came in the end zone. Hurley completed only 2 of 5 pass attempts for 10 yards, but his touchdown runs were all Findlay (9-1-1) needed. Centerburg 54 Cardington 34 CARDINGTON Centerburg limited host Cardington-Lincoln to only 16 points in the first three quarters Saturday and claimed a 54-34 non-league cage win in girls' action. The winners were up 44-16 after three quarters and went on to bounce Cardington to 0-3 on the season. Heather Larimar led the Centerburg team in scoring with 17 points while Carrier Bronson had 10. Jenny Duvis was Cardington's top scorer with 12 points while Amy Berkshire had 11 points and led the Lady Pirates in rebounds with 10. Centerburg won the JV game 52-11.

Kelly Coder puced Cardington with six points. Irish (1-2) battled back in the third period, taking a 35-34 lead to the fourth.
