THEFTS REPORTED Deputies Sunday reported $500 worth of copper tubing was removed from the grounds of the LaRue water plant, 200 Section St. The tubing was located behind the plant. Chubb MOUNT GILEAD George M. Chubb, 72, died in his home early today. He had been in failing health two years. The Mount Gilead resident was bom April 30, 1918, in Pontiac, to the late John and Marie England Chubb. On Feb.

1 1, 1938, in Mount Gilead, he married Alma L. Smith Chubb, who survives. He lived 53 years in the home in which he died. Before retiring, he was employed with Rockwell International as a model builder. Before that he worked 10 years at Hydraulic Press Manufacturing here.

He was a member of 74 CB REACT Club and of Mount Gilead Senior Citizens. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Hedrick, Mount Gilead; two sisters, Alice Price and Betty Detwiler, Mount Gilead; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. A son and a daughter died in infancy. Two sisters, June McPeek and Mary Chubb, and a brother, Claude Chubb, also are deceased.

The service will be conducted at 10:30 am Wednesday in Gompf Funeral Home, Cardington, by the Rev. Mary Lou Gompf. Burial will be in Rivercliff Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Gilead Emergency Squad or 74 CB REACT Club. Emma Maxine Miller Emma Maxine Miller, 67, 357 Mil-bum died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in MedCenter Hospital. She had been ill 15 years. Bom April 29, 1923, in Marion, she was a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Campbell Hackworth.

On Aug. 29, 1938, she married Harold W. Miller, who survives. The homemaker also is survived by a son, Harold D. Miller, Marion; two daughters, Nancy L.

Miller, Florida, and Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Prouty, Marion; two brothers, William Hack-worth, Marion, and Homer Hack-worth, California; a sister, Mrs. Helen Ettor, California; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The service will be conducted at 1 1 am Wednesday in Boyd Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Jones.
