Cox, operator of the Coffee Bar, was named defendant Thursday in a contempt brought by the state of Ohio in Marion County Common Pleas Court. The state charged Cox allegedly failed to appear after being subpoenaed to testify at a hearing last October to determine the liability of the Coffee Bar for unemployment compensation taxes.

Willard P. Dudley, administrator of the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, asked for a citation directing Cox to appear before the court and show cause why he should not be punished for contempt. The Johnny Learns To Swim program will be held at the Children's Home July 10-31 for children 3-7 years with mothers from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

DANCES FOR teen-agers will be held Tuesday nights at Fire Station No. 1. Several trips will be taken in the bus. Registration is limited to 50 children. Included are Cleveland Indians games June 15, Aug.

She had been in failing health for several years. Born in Ravenseye, June 8, 1900, Mrs. Haefeli was a daughter of John and Nancy Bailey Phillips. Her husband, Carl died in 1963. Mrs.

Haefeli came to Galion four years ago from Mansfield. She was a member of the Galion Golden Age Club. Surviving are a son, Carl J. of RR 8, Lexington, and two brothers, Bert Phillips of RR 2, Bellville, and Frank Phillips of Bellville. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Sunday from Kubach Funeral Home with Rev. Donald J. Voelm officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight. Herman J. Derr CAREY-Herman J. Derr, 82, retired farmer of Carey, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday in Mercy Hospital in Tiffin where he was admitted Feb.

25, after suffering a stroke. He was a Kirby native. Born Aug. 11, 1885, he was a son of George and Mary Frey Derr. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church.

Surviving are his widow, Grace Josephine Windau Derr; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Cooley of New Castle, and Mrs. Martha Smiley of Findlay; five sons, Joseph and Gaylord of RR 2, Carey, Vincent of RR 1. Wharton, Floyd of RR 2, Upper Sandusky, and Donald of near Tiffin; 36 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, a brother, Joseph, of Upper Sandusky. McKinnon and two sisters, Mrs.

Ira of Carey and Mrs. Lena Balduf of Upper Sandusky. A son, five brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be Monday at 9:30 A a.m. in Our Lady of Consolation Church.
