Zip Code 48222, 45 feet long and 13 feet wide, serves ore carriers, tankers and other vessels plying the Detroit River between Lake Erie and Lake St.

Clair. It's named the J.W. Westcott IL. Joseph J. Hogan, president of J.W.

Westcott Co. of Detroit, said his firm will soon begin the second year of a three-year contract with the U.S. Postal Service to haul the mail to ships on the move on the Detroit River. For several years, the post office refused to enter into more than one-year contracts, Hogan said. The post office had considered ending the contracts due 1 to rising costs.
