BURGLARY Ronnie Cottrill, 672 Silver reported Monday evening that his residence was burglarized. Taken were stereo components, record albums and other property. The loss was estimated at over $300. Two youngsters found items believed to have been taken in the burglary. They discovered the property in bushes near the Cottrill residence, took some of the items to a nearby home and called police.

Before officers arrived a car containing five suspects pulled up. They loaded the remaining property in the vehicle and drove away. At last report no arrests had been made. THEFT Rose Varney, 343 W. Church told police Monday afternoon that several strands of outdoor Christmas tree lights and extension cords were stolen from her property.

She set the loss at over 150. VANDALISM Donald Bauer, 535 Pearl reported Monday morning that two tires on his car were cut at his residence. He estimated the loss at $150. CityAccidents ONE CITED James D. Kohler, 29, of 913 David was charged Saturday with failure to control his vehicle after a mishap on Cheney Avenue in which he struck a fence.

JUVENILE CHARGED William J. Crissinger, 16, of 206 Olney was charged Sunday with failure to control his vehicle, operating on a temporary permit without a licensed driver and leaving the scene of an accident. He was resolution authorizing the sale of the county's share of Penn Central Railroad notes. The notes represent back taxes owed by the bankrupt railroad.

The board changed its mind about selling the notes because a federal court hearing will enable the county's taxing districts to get full value on the notes. The money is expected to be released at the beginning of 1981, according to Mary Ellen Withrow, county treasurer. On Monday, the commissioners also authorized the extension of time for real property collection from Dec. 31 to Jan. 30, as requested by the county treasurer.

Water Decade NEW YORK (AP) The United Nations launched a 10-year program to provide safe drinking water for everyone. U.N. experts say a quarter of the earth's 4 billion people now drink dirty water and some 2 billion have no toilet. It estimates that up to 80 percent of diseases in developing countries could be prevented by clean water and improved sanitation. The cost of this program will be $30 billion annually for the next 10 years.

She was ill eight years. Born in Marion County Feb. 4, 1890, she was married here March 6, 1910, to Vernon Shroats, who died in 1973. She was a housewife and is survived by 4 sons, LeRoy Shroats and Robert Shroats, both of Marion, John Shroats of Prospect and Edward Allen Shroats of North Carolina; a sister, Edna Dietsch of Marion; 9 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m.

Wednesday in Boyd Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Ashley. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery. No calling hours will be observed. Contributions may be made to Green Camp United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Walter F.Trumble Funeral services are being arranged in Independence, for Walter F. Trumble, 61, formerly of Marion. Mr. Trumble, who' lived in Independence, died there on Sunday. A member of the Catholic Church, Mr.

Trumble lived in Marion about 15 years, leaving the community about six years ago. He was born Sept. 4, 1919. On medical leave before his death, Mr. Trumble was a whom she lived with High Tozers Visited former Thursday Swiss Snider).

Appointments Reported Lloyd S. Harris MOUNT GILEAD Lloyd S. Harris, 72, of 209 W. Marion Mount Gilead, died Monday morning in Morrow County here. He was born in Cardington, July 1, 1908, and was married to Lucille Meckley Harris, who survive.

He was a retired service manager of Hydraulic Press Manufacturing here and a member of First Baptist Church, Mount Gilead. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marcelle Miller of Gallon; a son, Richard Harris of Basking Ridge, N.J.; a brother, Virgil Harris of Escondido, and 4 grandchildren. Services will ber conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Craven Funeral Home, Mount Gilead, by the Rev.

Warren B. Harris. Burial will be in Rivercliff Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Charles Turpin NEVADA Charles Turpin, 64, of Route 2, Nevada, died at 2 p.m. Monday at his home. He had been ill IS months. The Rev. Faye Botten will conduct services at 11 a.m.

Jennifer Penix of Marion and Mrs. Catherine Swann of London; and 10 grandchildren. William M.Hamblin William Max Hamblin, 59, of 4020 Centerville-Prospect Road, died at 7:45 a.m. today in Marion General Hospital. He was born June 8, 1921, and lived in the Green Camp area since 1942.

He was service manager for Tecum sen Products Marion Division and was an employee of the company 40 years. Following the death in 1961, of his wife, Wilda Mae Stayner Hamblin, he was married Aug. 10, 1963, to Virginia Dusang Hamblin, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Steven Hamblin of Marion and Michael Hamblin of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Mischa) Lash of Medina; 2 stepdaughters, Mrs.

David (Cheryl) Seitz of Marys ville and Terry Glenn of Marion; 3 sisters, Mrs. David (Bea) Dickason of LaRue, Mrs. Andrew (Helen) Middlesworth of Florida- and Mrs. Paul (Betty) Cochran of Huron; 8 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild. 'A stepson and a sister are deceased.

He was born in Lima Sept. 25, 1903, and was married Sept 10, 1927, to Iva H. Ross Sautter, who survives. A former member of Galion City Council, serving 4 years, starting in 1946, he sold and repaired farm machinery for Fred Hocker and Galion Farm Service. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church here.

Also surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Ben (Martha) Kozik of Galion and Mrs. Forrest (Juanita) Dye of Dayton; 4 brothers and a sister, Herman, Albert George and Edward and Emma Sautter, all of Galion; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A brother is deceased. the Executive Board of Harding Area Council Boy Scouts of America and was a former president of Community MedCenter Hospital's Board of Governors.

He was it member of Marion, Area Chamber of Commerce and of Marion Lodge 70, F4AM. Also surviving are 3 sons, Don of Massachusetts, James of Wisconsin and John of Marion; a daughter, Joyce of Kentucky; 3 brothers, Ronald of Petersburg, James, also of Michigan, and Darryl of Kettering; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ray (Elaine) triggers of Alabama and Mrs. Richard Jeanette) Burns of Petersburg, and grandchildren.
