Series Of Rural Fires Continues Two more rural buildings were destroyed by flames Monday morning, continuing the series of blazes around the city. A large barn and a garage which contained an auto burned on the Mrs. Elizabeth Baird property in Pleasant Valley at 4:30 a. m. yesterday.

Cause of the fire was undetermined, but the loss was estimated at about $3,000 by the owner who said it was partially covered by insurance. Neighbors assisted in preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby J. D. Lowe residence. The auto was owned by Ray Pryor, whose wife is postmistress at Pleasant Valley.

The residence was occupied by the Edward Embrey family. Three outbuildings were destroyed in a fire Sunday evening on the F. Barr farm on Ridge road but Jetty firemen aided by neighbors saved the residence. A barn on the same farm was fired by lightning last July. Earlier Sunday two outbuildings, farm tools, about 200 bushels of corn and other articles were destroyed on the Harry Stone farm on Clay pike.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating the latter blaze and have asked the state fire marshal to join the probe inasmuch as Charles Nunley was arrested in September after three other fires on the same farm.
