The query is merely preliminary to the report that the average family during the 1933 bank holiday at the bottom of the Great Depression was said to possess exactly $18.23, no more. SNAKES, TOO, are known to be fairly particular about what they eat. That's to say one sort such as the green snake will eat crickets and grasshoppers, but won't touch lizards or mice. And another sort such as the water snake may eat fish and frogs, but won't have anything to do with insects or rodents. They specialize, those snakes.

SO YOU THINK Mount Everest in the Himalayas is the highest mountain in the world, do you? So did I.

But measured from the center of the earth, Mount Chimborazo in the Andes is higher. Credit the equatorial bulge for that. DO YOU BELIEVE some faith healers really can cure physical ailments? If not, how do you explain that remarkable experiment undertaken by McGill University. Two batches of sixk white mice were put in separate cages. Selected faith healers prayed over one cage, but not over the other.

The prayedover mice reportedly got well far more quickly than did the ignored mice. The devout like to cite this report. Skeptics contend any sick animal's chances of recovery improve when it gets a lot of attention..
