An inmate from the Department of Corrections tried to escape from a holding cell at the County Courts Center Thursday morning, sheriff's spokesman Ted Denny said. Ronnell Leberry, who was convicted in 2001 of especially aggravated kidnapping and facilitation of aggravated rape, "went berserk" while left alone in the cell, Denny said. Leberry, who was in handcuffs, tried to break through the plexiglass window, the spokesman said.

No one was injured, and Denny was not aware of any new charges filed against Leberry. Leberry was in court Thursday concerning a motion for his appeal case. He was sentenced in 2001 to 32 years in prison. Car vandalized with magic marker 2. Police believe three juveniles: were responsible for vandalizing a car in the First Baptist Church parking lot on Madison Street Wednesday night.

Officer Andy Bechtold said he talked with one of the juveniles, who denied writing "Greenwood Projects" in magic marker on a Ford Thunderbird's trunk. The youth was released. Another juvenile ran inside the church, according to a report by Officer Gerald Steffen. The marker was removed with lacquer thinner, Steffen wrote. Clarksville, died Tuesday, Feb.

He was a member of Street United Methodist Church, American Legion, Clarksville Art Association and was a former Clarksville city councilman.
