Stockholders of the Ohio Connecting railway, a Pennsylvania, property, bel special meeting yesterday afternoon to take formal 'action In the proitosli tlon to Increase the conopany's capital stock. It was decided to Issue new stock to the amount of "l.OOO.OOO, mnk lug the total capital stock It.Oop.OOOj This will be used to defray the expense of vast Improvements planned by the company some time ago, parts of which ure now under way It is intended to make the Ohio Con needing line double track Its entire 'distance, with the one exception of the bridge across the Ohio river, true original plans for the reconstruction of the property provided for an addition to the iiresent brlilae to accommodate a second track, but at the meeting the stockholders agreed to an Increase suf flclent only to carry out the track project The bridge wqrk, it Is understood, will bo deferred for at least a year. According to the plans as outlined by Chief longlneer Thomas of the Pennsylvania lines west, the approach to the bridge will be made double track, Through Allegheny a spur will be constructed) from the eastern end of the bridge to fOrm a connection with the Fort Wayne main line track at a point near Preblo avenue. The present con nectlon Is near Ilellevue, With the new approach completed. It will be posslble to handle the traffic over the Ohio Con necting, dlreot from lower Allegheny, instead of making the connection farther down the road, as Is now the custom.

Tho lino will bo extended on the south side ot the river for about two miles below the present point of Inter section. In order to reduce the grade of the west bound approach.
