EDWARIa Charles Edwards, a pioneer Columbia City business man, died Friday night at his boarding place on Washington street. Death was due to stonisoh trouble. Mr. Edwards had long been a sufferer from stomach trouble and for the paat two montha had been in th city receiving medical treatment.

Mr. Edwards was among the number who joined the rush to California in 1849, shortly after ths discovery of gold there. Returning later to Indiana, he served as a soldier in the civil war, and later embarked in ths hardware business at Columbia City. He retired from aotiv business about ten years ago, having acquired a competence. Mr, Edward had no immediate family.
