OBITUARIES Mamie C. Clark Mamie C. Clark, 72, of Taylorsville, died Sunday, August 7, 1988 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. The Mize native was a member of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m.

Tuesday, August 9, 1988 at Taylorsville First Baptist Church with Dr. James Bryant and Rev. George Horn officiating. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville was in charge of a arrangements and burial was at Mize Cemetery. Survivors include three sons, John B.

Clark of Madison, Larry E. Clark of Brandon, and Eric Clark of Taylorsville; brother, Lonnie Craft of Pensacola, Florida; four sisters, Alma Jones of Mize, Ruby West of Jackson, Mildred Kowatch of Mize, and Casceal Taylor of Raymond; and seven grandchildren. Miss Affie Canoy Miss Affie Canoy, 79, of Magee died Sunday, August 7, 1988 at Magee General Hospital. Miss Canoy was a retired housekeeper and was a charter member of Goshen Baptist Church. Estus Layton, 81, of Magee died Monday, August 8, 1988 at his residence. Mr. Layton was a member of Ole Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer, Supervisor of District 1 Simpson County from 1948 to 1952 and was a county and community leader. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 9, 1988 at Ole Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church with Rev.

J.M. Myers and Rev. Thomas Floyd officiating. Burial was at Ole Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Mrs.

Jewel Layton of Magee; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Womack of Magee, Mrs. Mary Beard of Brandon; one brother, Mr. Jimmy Layton of Magee; one sister, Mrs. Wilda Craft of Magee; four grandchildren, Jed Womack of Jackson, Jay Womack of Dallas, Texas, Joey Womack of Magee, Tara Beard of Brandon; two great grandchildren, Troy and Lisa Womack.

Stacy L. Jones Stacy L. Jones, 18, of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 2, 1988 as a result of a car accident she was involved in. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 1988 at Goodwater Baptist Church with Rev.

Jimmy Harrison officiating. Burial was at Goodwater Cemetery with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee in charge of arrangements. She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Germana of Toledo, Ohio; father, John L. Jones of Colorado Springs, two step-brothers, Timothy and Kervin Conners of Toledo, Ohio; one step-sister, Kelly Conners of Toledo, Ohio; one uncle, Terral Germana of Mendenhall; two aunts, Sarah Peacock of Mendenhall and Cassie Kemp of Petal; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

C.B. Germana of Mendenhall and a host of relatives and friends. Lenard Chester Sullivan Mr. Lenard Chester Sullivan, 65, of Meridian died Monday, August 1, 1988 at VA Hospital in Jackson. The Smith County native was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 1988 at Magee Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Guest officiating. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at Zion Hill Cemetery. Survivors include one son, James Larry Sullivan of Alabama; three daughters, Ruby Jean of Quinton, Tamra Lynn of Washington, and Deone of Lucedale; four sisters, Bobbie Albritton of Jackson, Fannie Roberson of NOTICE OF ELECTION The Farmers Home Administration (FmHA) county committee election this year will be held on September 9, 1908.

Vinzant was a member of Lemon Christian Church and was a retired factory worker for Gaddis Poultry. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 1988 at Smith County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Young and Rev. John Walters officiating.

Burial was at High Hill Cemetery with Smith County Funeral Home Chapel of Raleigh in charge of arrangements. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Allie Norman, Mrs. Tamer Thornton and 1 Mrs. Lizzie Thornton, all of Raleigh; one brother, Mr.

Becks, 75, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, August 2, 1988 at Methodist Hospital i in Hattiesburg. Mr. Becks was a retired farmer. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 3, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. at -Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Mt.

Olive with Rev. Kelly officiating. Burial was at Rock Hill Cemetery with UptonMims Mitchell Funeral Home of Mt. Olive in charge of arrangements. He is survived by a number of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Carolyn Barnes Gillis Mrs. Carolyn Barnes Gillis, 71, of Mendenhall died Thursday, August 4, 1988 at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall. Mrs. Gillis was a member of Mendenhall United Methodist Church and was a retired homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Herbert D. Gillis in September, 1986. The camp was held on the campus of William Carey College in Hattiesburg. The junior high Cougars received numerous blue ribbons and brought home the spirit stick.
