Chillicnthe Gazette OSU vote to honor Fawcetts COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Ohio State University trustees decided Friday to award outgoing President Novice G. At its last meeting, the board voted to the university's Center name, Tomorros after the departing president. The trustees also took up the problem of where Fawcett's successor, Dr. Harold Enarson, now president of Cleveland State University, will live when he takes over Sept. 1.

Enarson has expressed a desire to live off campus and a special committee organized to seek housing for him reported it had not been able to come up with a suitable home. It was decided that Enarson will live in temporary quarters, probably an apartment, until the new president and the trustees can find a permanent residence. Trustees agreed that the home Fawcett currently 0C- cupies is too old to continue to serve as the president's home and too small to meet his enterme tainment requirements. In other business Friday the trustees: -Heard a report on grants and gifts to the university totaling more than $5.6 million. -Ratified contract awards totaling $2.3 million for construction of a classroom building.

--Voted to improve group hospital and surgical insurance benefits for university employes. -Approved a new university fee schedule which lists some 13,000 fees and charges. -Named two university buildings, after OSU's third president, Dr. William H. Scott, an 1 the late Dr.

Fri. Sat. at The Tahiti 75 N. Paint-Ph. 772-9995 Chess dispute pale in view of history NEW YORK (AP) The insulted egos and knuckled tensions before the FischerSpassky chess match may seem to be a blazing battle, but pale beside the tales of bloodthirsty games in Medieval Iceland.

Chess boards in the 12th and 13th centuries were often the center of treachery, revenge, intrigue and murder, according to sagas of the time. When a certain King Louis lost a chess game to Rognvald, he stood up in a fury, shoved his chessmen into a bag and smashed his opponent in the face with it, leaving him a bloody mess. "Take that!" exclaimed the Rognvald rode off in a panic. But his brother stayed to split the king's skull open. These stories, are sagas from Willard Fiske's "Chess in Iceland and in Icelandic Literature," published in 1905.

It is said that American chess champion Bobby Fischer OSU students' dean goes to Nebraska U. OMAHA, Neb. (AP) Dr. Kenneth L. Bader, dean of students at Ohio State University, will become vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Sept.
