Foust said yesterday Ohio officials had not been officially informed of the Kentucky embargo on livestock from four midwestern state including Ohio, because of outbreaks of anthrax. He said Kentucky officials gave the news of their action to newsmen rather than directly to Ohio authorities.

Ohio authorities made a similar announcement after West Virginia imposed a ban on livestock imports from five western states last week. West Virginia officials said they had notified Ohio officials in advance.
