In today's hand South bid two no-trump with only 21 points.

Nevertheless the opening bid is highly recommended. Whenever your hand vis otherwise suitable for no-trump purposes, you are justified in counting about one point extra for a strong suit. In today's hand, the spade suit was so strong that South could surely count on his fifth spade to provide a trick. It was easily worth one extra point. When the hand was played in a recent tournament, many of the players who had the South hand opened with only one spade.

Several of them played the hand right there since everybody passed the bid of one spade. When, however, South opened with two no-trump, North had no difficulty in responding. At one table the result was quite unexpected. West opened the deuce of spades, declarer's strongest suit. A heart or a club opening lead would have given declarer much trouble.

South won the first trick, and lost the diamond finesse I'? Iff- ,1 3 If It 1 i yellow and white, the colors which will be worn by the hon-oree's attendants, was used. South now proceeded to run the rest of the spades and diamonds, discarding the low club from his hand on dummy's last diamond. East could save only three cards, and had to decide whether to save two hearts and one club or one heart and two clubs. Perhaps he should have guessed right, but it wasn't an easy decision to make. He actually saved only one heart, whereupon a heart lead from dummy dropped the jack and king together, thus establishing declarers last heart as his 11th trick.

McLEOD If your hair is graying or is already gray or white, you must change the shades of your makeup. The colors which were becoming to you when your hair was blonde, brown, red or black are not the ones which will flatter you now. As lack of pigment is the cause of gray hair, there is a corresponding but very subtle change in your skin tone. Nature wisely attends to her business of giving the skin a paler tone which blends with your changing hair. Exotic sharp color notes in makeup, as in clothes and accessories, do all the wrong things to your maturing hair and complexion.

They also make your eyes fade out by contrast. If you were, for instance, once a redhead you probably have been partial to redhead makeup, but don't choose it now.
