Brandon De. Wilde plays an introverted young man who suddenly goes berserk, kidnaps the daughter of the town sheriff and takes off on a homicide binge.

Channel 2 Edward Binns does his best to save a pretty trite plot on The Wild Wild West, but it's not quite enough. This is about a scheme between a band of Mexican outlaws and some Army traitors to take over a territory near the Mexican border. Channel 11 There's an international flavor to This Is Tom Jones. The Welsh star's guests include Britain's Lynn Redgrave, American comedian Tim Conway, South America's Sergio Mendes and his Brasil '66 and England's The Bee Gees and Lulu. Channel 5 The High Chaparral becomes the stage for one of the evening's most outstanding performances with Gorshin as "Stinky The extroverted Irishman is also a Cavalryman whose life revolves pet camel named Tillie.

In "Jim Sonnett's Girl" he has a lady friend to whom he gives unswerving trust. 9-10 Channel 5 Skip Homeier does a light take-off on Dr. Timothy Leary on Star Trek.

He plays a Dr. Sevrin, a robed and beaded leader of a group of six (and sick) hippies looking for a paradise planet named Eden. They are literally sick, carring a disease which threatens the lives of any society they reach. 9-10 Channel 11 In the concluding episode of "The Holy Ground" on Judd For the Defense, the attorney is quick to learn that his client is one of the most obtuse characters he has ever defended. Richard Kiley plays the Rev.

Barnaby Cutler, leader of an eccentric religious sect. He's charged with the murder of the husband of his alleged mistress. First of all, he claims a loss of memory through amnesia, enough to give any defense attorney a nervous fit. Secondly, he is accused of trafficking in narcotics. Finally, his religious retreat is under investigation as a havart for illicit activities.

Curtain "Cactus Flower." tickets are Pert Jeannie Carson, Spouse Biff McGuire Appear Monday Night Couple Star in Abe Burrows' Comedy 'Cactus Flower' at Appleton High-West BY JAMES AUER Post-Crescent Sunday Editor How many husband-and-wife acting teams can you name? Well, let's see, there's Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. And Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.

And Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. And Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson. And, of course, Jeannie Carson and Biff McGuire, who will be in Appleton Monday night when Variety Theater and the sent Abe Burrows' Broadway Appleton Gallery of A Arts prehit comedy, "Cactus Flower." The McGuires, who delighted Fox Valley theatergoers a few seasons ago in the Variety Loewe's "Camelot," are returnpresentation of Lerner a and ing to the AHS-West auditorium in a play that, until its closing last Nov. 23, was the longestrunning non-musical attraction in New York. With Lauren Bacall in the role of the prickly-skinned heroine, it racked up a total of 1,234 performances, cinching its claim as "the most popular comedy of the latter 1960s." Telephone Interviews "Cactus Flower" is not only fun to watch it's fun to be in, report the McGuires, who chatted with this writer Wednesday afternoon via long-distance telephone from Winnipeg, where they're playing for a week in that city's beautiful new music and drama center.

"We're having great fun with this play," said the red-headed, English-born Miss Carson. "It's marvellous to do a tour, makes you flexible again. You make new friends all the time." "It's a good change of pace," agreed her husband, a native of New Haven, Conn. who plays an amorous dentist in Burrows' farce. "Enjoyable.

Sort of an adaption of a popular Parisian farce. "Enjoyable. Sort of an audience show. I enjoy playing it." Real Entertainers Both McGuire and Miss Carson are at home in all entertainment media films, television, the legitimate stage. They met (and married) in New York, where both were cast in the revival of the SaidyHarburg, musical, "Finian's Rainbow." Subsequently, they toured together in "Camelot" and "110 in the Shade," and appeared during the summer of 1968 at the Bucks County Playhouse, New Hope, "Madwoman of Chaillot" and a new musical based on S.N.

Behrman's play, "The Pirate." Before coming to the United States, Miss Carson had gained stardom in London's West End with "Love From Judy," a musical adaptation of the familiar story, "Daddy Long Legs." She also played leading roles in a number of British films, including "Mad Little Island," a feature screened a few weeks ago on TV-11's Sunday afternoon showcase. Two of his films, "The Thomas Crown Affair" and "The Heart Is a Lonely were released during 1968. Asked whether she preferred the ligitimate theater or motion pictures, Miss Carson unhestitingly chose the former.

"It's my first love," she said. If she had to choose between a musical and a straight play, Miss Carson declared that she'd go for the play not because musicals aren't challenging, but because there's "usually a bit more substance" to work with in a non-musical script. Both Enjoy Touring Both she and her husband are encouraged that touring compaines are increasing in number, and that many cities now have their own repertory companies. As the theater is decentralized, Miss Carson added, there'll be many more opportunities for actors than there have been over the past 10 or years. Because they work frequently together, Biff McGuire and Jeannie.

Carson have been able to develop a teamwork, a reciprocating pace and style that reminds many playgoers of the on-stage rapport between that other well-known acting couple, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. And working together has, the McGuires feel, helped to cement their marriage. "I think the best says Miss Carson, marriages," where the husband and wife an all-around sense "joint enterprise'. 'Cactus Flower' tells the story playboy dentist and point his where nurse it's clear they are going to married. "For me, the happiest part the play's happy ending is the indication that this pair will continue to work together after the curtain falls and they say, do'."
