8 8 8 8 8 8 of Problems Legislature Trying to 'Turn Clocks Knowles Says in Blast Post-Crescent Madison Bureau Knowles MADISON has attacked Gov. Warren P. desire of some Wisconsin lawmakers "to turn the clocks back" rather than meet needs of an expanding state population. The blast came as Knowles met with his chief department heads in a cabinet meeting to review budget problems and possible state labor layoffs in light of budget actions of the legislative conference committee. That committee of six Republicans is attempting to settle differences between the two el houses of the Legislature over changes made in the $1.6 billion budget proposal of Republican Gov.

Outagamie County Coroner Bernard H.

Kemps identified the victim as Mrs. Herbert (Catherine) Schmitz, 310 Dixon operator of the Triangle Restaurant. Kemps, who investigated with Kaukauna police, said Mrs. Schmitz died as a result of a single shot to the head from a 12 gauge shotgun. Her body was found in bed, the shotgun lying nearby.

Kemps said Mrs. Schmitz. who was in the process of obtaining a divorce, left a suicide note. the contents of which were not revealed. She is survived by two children.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Greenwood Funeral Home. $70 Reported Missing From Little Chute Home LITTLE CHUTE Some $70 was reported missing from the Dennis Hauser residence, 214 Franklin Street, according to Little Chute police. The money had been kept in a jar in the kitchen, Hauser told police, and was taken some time during the week of July 27. Damaging Car Brings Fine Youth Found Guilty Of Spraying Rocks, Mud in Hortonville Duane Bauman, 19, route 2, Appleton, who spun his car tires causing mud and rocks to be thrown against a Hortonville restaurant operator's car, was fined $50 and costs or 12 days in jail Monday after he was found guilty of causing criminal damage to property.
