W. EVANS? CAMOJIILE PILLS.I MmruwAn j. xntu At rz.iL, icu. IN the midst of a general, and in many instances not unfounded prejudices against many of the medical remedies of the dav, DR. VM.

EVANS: PJLLS have the enviable distinction of universal approbation. They are perhaps the xmly medicine publicly advertised that lias the full and unreserved testimony of medical men in jts favor; if not the only one which gives full satisfaction to its purchasers. Dr Evans has the satisfaction of knowing that his CAMOMILE or -TONIC PILLS art not on! regularly recommended and prescribed by the most experienced physicians in their daily practice, but also taken by those gentlemen themselves, whenever they feel' the symptoms ofthose diseases in which they tvell know them to be efficacious. He knows this to be generally the case in New York, Philadelphia, Albany, Boston, and other large cities in which they have an ex-. tensive sale.

That they should thus conquer professional prejudice and interested opposition, and seewe-the agency of the most eminent jind bes' informed physicians in the country to render them useful to alllclasses, can only be airly ascribed to their undeniable and pre-emi nent virtues Enviable, however, as this distinction is, it can easily be accounted for from the intrinsic and peculiar properties of the medicine itself. I 'does not pretend to too much, and it accomplish cs all it Dromises. Dr VV Evans does not nre lend, for instance, that either his CAMOMILE or his APERIENT PILLS will cure all diseases by merely purifying the Wood; but he cer- Mainiy aoes pretend, ana nas me autnorny oi 'daily proofs for positively asserting that these i -fi medicines, taKen as recommenaea, win cure a irreat majority of the diseases of the stomach, the lungs, and the liver, by which impurity of blood is occasioned, ine Diooa is mace irorn contents of the stomach: has restored color and vitality given to it by the action of the lungs, and as it performs its duty in circulating through 'the veins and arteries, has its vellow or hiliious excrement, which may be termed its refuse or wornout sediment, collected and discharged by the liver. These viscera, then, are the anatom- ical mechanism or apparatus by which the Mood is-manufactured and nreservedr and it isthere- 'fore obvious that the state of thesa should Le the first considered of by the physician. Now there nre various causes that will affect and these organs, with which the blood has nothing at alrtO'do.

Ihus the stomach may t-e utreny i debilitated in one ay anngnt, gnei, disappointment, heat ot-the weather, or any ethdr nerwj3 oerion; and be wholly unaMe to 'digest its food. Is the blood to blame for this? A nervous action of long continuance will pro duce settled dyspepsia, with headache, bile, mental and physical debility, and a funeral retinue of other evils. Is the blood to blame fr 1 this? Intemperance, -by inflaming the coats of the stomacB, ana leaving nacia prostrare weakness; and an undue quantity and continu- aneeef Dureative medicines by producing the same effects, will put this organ nl nost eut of use for digesting wholesome solid tooet, and thus impovetkh the biood and the whole system? Is the blood to blame for this? Again, with regard to the lungs, iris well known tnat a slight cold, occasioned by damp feet or by a current of air, wHl inflame the bronchia, all down through the branching air tube3 of the lungs, and create ei- tiicr excessive mucus, or that dreadfully insidious disease, consumption, with pustules and suppuration of the lobes, which though timely remedies may prevent, no earthly skill can cure. Is the biood of the fair and blooming victim to blame for this? "So the liver, wherr climate, se dentary habits, intemperance, or othei pjr-stra-. 'ting canseshave widiered away, or paralyzed it with distention, becomes unable to carry oil" the bile front the circulation, and instead of dischar- -gingit through the gall bladder, leaves it tocome through the jaundiced and sallow fluids, and to rush upon the stomach in irregular and excessive quantities.

Is the unfortunate blood, to blame 'for this? No: these vital organs nre never affected by blood; until after the blood -s been affected by them; thev are its makers and mas- it is merely their work and their passive agent. Knowing this to be a sound and demonstrated act in science and experience, Dr Win Evans' vstcmof practice isintaithful accordance with TT 1 .1 I 1 I tie aims toseep me siuiiiucu, inc turig. am: liver in vigorous action, as the three jrreat ountains oi neauii anu me. ror mis purpose, RIENT '-PILLS, (acknowledged bv, medical ails ucauiiiii I i 1111 ili 1 1 1 i 'men who nave anaiy2ea and recommended to be equal to any in the world) in cases 'which require the cleansing of the sumach and bowels; and his celebrated CA.MO.MILE or TONIC 'PILLS, in cases- of nervous irritnbiliry, stomachic weakness or general debilitv. AC WSSIP CG. jjg Cttatora-Hoaw at, near Clurtzes 1 is tor gas Alfred Oldridire's Ralm of Columbia. THE Best and Cheapest Preparahon for the Hair ever offered to the Public, discovered in 1821, by the late Mr. JOHN OLDRIDGE, Father of the present proprietor, No 1, Wellington-street, strand, London. it The Hcmas Hair has been noticed, in all ages, by the best writers, to be the most beautiful ornament belonging to the human frame il may not only be said: to excel others, but to be the only one in reality, as the loss of it changes the countenance, and prematurely brings on the appearance of old age, which causes many to recoil at being Uncovered, and sometimes even to shun society to avoid the jests and sneers of their most favorite acquaintances, whilst others are driven into solitude from the same cause, and the remainder of their lives ore spent in lonely retirement.

In short, even the loss property fUls not the generous thinking youth with that heavy sinking gloom, a does the loss hair; neither can the gain of wealth exhile-rate his mind so much as havirg it restored again. As a complete remedy for these defects, and to avert all these unpleasant circumstances, Alfred Oldridge feels great satisfaction in announcing that the use of one bottle of his- Calm will prevent the hair from falling ofT in forty-eight hours after its first application, and likewise in three weeks, causes a new crowth to arise; it also prevents the hair from turning gray, makes it look bright and clossv. and frees it from senrf. This powerful and effective assistant of nature is perfectly innocent in itself, and may be used en an infant's head (when applied according to the directions on the bottle,) therefore for the Nursery it is invaluable, as it causes the hair to grow thick and healthy, and if it is but a little inclined to curl, it will induce it to curl most beautifully. So confident were the proprietors of its merits that during their residence in America, they applied the Palm gratis to any person who appiiea, anu was noi Known in any instance to fail.

OLDRIDGE'S BALM seldom fails to produce Whiskers and Eye-braws in a short time, though there were none on the face before, nnd has been found to every other article that has been sold as a curling fluid. For sale by SUMMONS, HARTT Co. Nov. 22 tf 70 Chartres st. BEAUTI FIJI, Head of Hair is the grandest ornament belong to the human frame.

How strangely the loss ofit changes the countenance and prematurely brings on the appearance of old age, which causes many to recoil at being uncovered, and sometimes even to shun society to avoid the jests and sneers of their acquaintance; the remainder of their lives are consequently spent in retirement. In short, not even the loss of property fills the generous thinking youth with that heavy sinking gloom as does the loss of his hair. To avert all these unpleasant circumstances, OLDRIDGE'S ALM OF COLUMBIA stops the hair from falling off on the first application and a few bottles restores it again. It likewise produces eyebrows and whiskers; prevents the hair from turning gray, makes it curl beautifully, and frees it from scurf.
