PR 2-0548 a am ities today checked out a number known sex offenders in north western Ohio, trying to get a lead on what Sheriff John Keeler calls the sex slaying of 14 year old Nancy Eagleson. The sheriff said today that I sexual attack on the young Pauld ing girl appeared to be the only motive behind her death. I Nancy's fully-clothed body- cept for her undergarments was found in a wooded area early Mon day by two hunters near the ham let of Junction, eight miles north east of here. The undergarments I were, lying close by.

A preliminary autopsy report, 'the sheriff said, showed the girl had been criminally assaulted and shot once through the head with a small caliber weapon. Nancy and her sister, Cheryl, 5, were returning home from a movie Sunday night when the killer struck. He dragged Nancy off a Paulding street and into bis car and rode off. Cheryl ran to a neighbor's house at the first sign of danger. The neighbors called the sheriff's of fice.

Sheriff Keeler said it was a lucky thing the little girr didn't stick around or the killer might have grabbed her, too.
