McCarthy, 72, passed away April 12, 2011 at Parks Methodist Assisted Retirement Center. She was born October 22, 1938 to Charles (Chuck) V. Miller and Lorriane Glass in Odessa, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike McCarthy, parents, a daughter, Lori McCarthy Wilson. She is survived by children, Scott McCarthy and wife Carolyn, Gayla Utzinger and husband Ken of Odessa, grandchildren, Michael Goodwin of San Antonio, Morgan Goodwin and Clay McCarthy of Odessa, sisters, Jane Watts and husband Sonny of Artesia, Patsy Miller and husband Martin of Cypress, son-in-law, Danny Wilson of Conroe. Also special friends, Darren, Lindee, Chelsee, Katie Greer. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are entrusted to Frank W.

Wilson Funeral Directors. Linda Lee McCarthy ODESSA Delbert Shellenberger, also known by the CB handle fought a courageous two year battle with prostrate cancer. He never gave up and until the battle was over he always said tough as a Delbert was born in Safford, Arizona on January 1, 1936 to Soloman and Vera Shellenberger. He married the love of his life, Norma Covill in Mexico on July 4, 1957. He proudly served his country in the U.S.

Air Force from 1954-1957. He was a hard working man and rarely missed a day of work. He retired in 2008, but he never quit working. Delbert loved his kids and grand kids and was proud of their accomplishments. He instilled good, hard working ethics in each one of them.

He will be missed by his faithful Chihuahua who stayed by his side until the battle was over. Delbert is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Norma; daughter, DuRonda Yeager of San Antonio, Texas and her three boys, Dustin Street of Austin, Texas, Devan Yeager of San Antonio, Texas and Dylan Yeager of Odessa, Texas; his son, Eugene Shellenberger and wife Sherri of Salt Lake City, Utah, their two daughters, Amanda Shellenberger of Tampa, Florida and Zoie Shellenberger of Salt Lake City, Utah and son, Aiden Scott Shellenberger of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers James of Ft. Stockton, Texas, Marvin of Garland, Texas, and Derwin of Odessa, Texas; sisters Eileen Scott, Earlene Boshell, and Irene Shellenberger, all of Odessa and Maxine McIntire of Garland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Soloman and Vera Shellenberger; brothers, Franklin, Elbert and Sam Shellenberger. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Graveside services with Military Honors by VFW Post 4342 will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born August 17, 1923 in Horito, Arkansas to George Row Marrs and Ada Cooper Marrs. She graduated from Warren High School. She married J.B. (Curly) Ward who passed away in 1961. Later, she married William (Bill) Strawn, who passed away in 2000.

She was very spiritual and gave to charities. She loved pets and was a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved to travel and just go for a ride in the car. She was a beautiful person who gave more than she received. She loved her family most of all and devoted herself as such.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kenneth Baucom, and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Ward; sister, Olita Terry; and brothers, Floyd Marrs and Troy Marrs. Survivors include her sister, Georgia Legrand of Arkansas; brother, David Marrs of Arkansas; her children, Clara Baucom Manson and husband Pete Manson of Odessa, Bob Ward of Odessa, Ben Strawn and wife Brandy Strawn of Odessa and Kay Strawn Lackey of Odessa; Grandchildren, Mike Bau- com, Steve Baucom, Tammy Baucom Savannah Lackey, Cindy Lewis, Jimmy Ward, Karen Ward, Zachary Lackey, Chris Strawn, Jeremiah Strawn, Max Strawn, Justin Strawn, Mia Strawn, and many great grandchildren; her niece, Alice Jeffcoat and husband Sam of Fred, Texas; and her sisters-in- law, Bonnie of Texarkana, Betty Mixson and husband Roger of Texarkana and Murtle Strawn of Hugh Springs, Arkansas. Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Sunset Funeral Home.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Robert Mixson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Thomas MONAHANS Eddie Wayne Whitt, age 61, of Monahans passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Big Spring, Texas. Eddie Wayne was born in Monahans, Texas October 28, 1949. He attended Monahans Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation. He worked in construction.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home. He is survived by his mother, Mary Whitt of Midland.

He was a U.S.Air Force and U.S.Navy veteran. Call: 423-552-2291 Email: AROUND THE BASIN The 31-year-oldman who was once the mascot for the Odessa Roughnecks and was arrested on chargesof improper recording relating to supposed recordings made in those offices was back in the Ector County Detention Center Tuesday morning. Ernesto Salcido, 1116 E. Gas Plant Road, San indicted April 5 by a grand jury in the 244th District Court. Salcido turned himself in Tuesday morning and was released on a $30,000 bond, Ector County Sgt.

Gary Duesler said, although jail listings for the five counts totaled $50,000. Duesler said Salcido had the bond in hand and was booked in at 11:48 a.m. and out by 11:50 a.m. Salcido was arrested and charged with improper record- ing on May 6in Midland County. He bonded out May 8 and turned himself into the Ector County Detention Center May 11 on another charge of improper recording, which he bonded out the next day.

Salcido was also booked in the Ector County Detention Center on May 25 on an additional three charges of improper recording. He again posted bond that day. Authorities charged Salcido with additional counts of the same crime during the month, with Salcido turning himself in and bonding out quickly each time. Salcido was fired as assistant general manager by the Odessa Roughnecks organization in September 2009before being rehired by the West Texas Roughnecks as director of operations in late April 2010. The team had been sold to new ownership in the intervening time.
