give his life for his sheep Scott Kneppert a livestock man living near the Huntingdon Fulton county line is dead in the Roaring Springs Hospital it Is believed as the result i of his refusal to abandon a sheep Kneppert aged 35 years left his home late at night and walked 3 miles across the country to a farm where he bought I a sheep He started for his home on foot with the sheep on a lead and when he had gone about half the dis tance a terrific kind and rain storm overtook him The sheep it Is thought became unmanageable and in an effort to find shelter from the driving rain Kneppert took refuge under a tree Knepperts father becoming alarmed at his sons failure to return home together with his other son went out in Uie night to find him Half a mile from their home they found Kneppert bleeding and unconscious A short distance away they found the dead body of the sheep pinned under a fallen tree Kneppert was rushed to the hospital but never regained consciousness One of the most delightful affair of the season was the dance given Friday night In the auditorium of the Elks Home by the Alexandria German Club There were a number of out of town guests present The music by
